Hi!How it works when we want to travel with a train that booking is not necessary? How we get those tickets, or we just have to show our interail pass to the train controller?Because I was checking that there are some that tell you a message such as:This is a popular train. Seat reservations are recommended, but not required.So, I was wondering how it works because we are travelling in four from Vien to Frankfurt.Thanks in advance.mariana

Hello, i am very new to this interrail thing and I'm trying to understand. I first thought that is I take a train on day 1 and it arrives on day 2 at his final destination, even is there is switches (that make part of the train trajectory), it still counted as 1 day. But when I checked for trains in the app I saw +1 day literally in every train I watched. Is it normal and does the +1 day means I spend actually 2 days of travel? Thank you very much.

I am new to all this and having a problem changing a booking. We are on a 4 day pass. The first day is sorted, Bolzano to Basel. Then I mistakenly booked to go to Paris BUT want to change to go to Amsterdam instead. Is this possible? 

I am a real newbie to all of this and struggling to make sense of it all. I am in the UK and have an Interrail pass. I downloaded the Rail Planner App and want to reserve seats for  my first journey. It defaults to Eurail and wants payment in Euros, however my website account is in GBP. I am going to travel in Norway so all journeys need a seat reservation.I do not want the exchange rate fee on top of the extra 2 euros Interrail charge and seat reservation charge. Is there anything I can do?   Are seat reservations only sent by post if you book via the interrail/eurail app/website?   I think you can get an electronic reservation from Entur - is this correct and then is it better to only book via this platform?  If I book seat reservations for myself and my husband together are they linked to both our passes? Hello everybody!I have a question.I have the EU disability card (100% + need of companion).I bought a global pass and I received a second one for free for my companion (thank you eurail!).Now, I am trying to book Rome - Wien, the night train of the 31st of July.If I try to use the option “only reservation”, there are no tickets available.So I search the booking adding the discout “eurorail pass” on the OBB account.I have this price: After this, I tried adding also the EU disability card and free companion option: I did the search without adding a second passenger with global pass (It adds automatically a seat for the companion).With this setting I have this price: This option (1 global pass + eu disability card + companion) is cheaper than using 2 global pass.My question is...can I do that? Can I do that even if I asked a second global pass for my companion?I hope somebody can clarify it.Thanks!Marco 

Hi my husband and I have a Eurail pass to use. We are not sure how to use the app - is it better to use one phone or can you have the pass details on both phones? Thanks

Good Evening Fellow Travellers.So I’m planning to travel from Antwerp to Liverpool in one day (Antwerp to Brussels/Brussels to London/London to Liverpool) Seat tickets for Eurostar and London - Liverpool are already booked on the trains we intend to use. If I try to set this up as one journey I am not offered the connections I want and indeed the only connections from Antwerp to Brussels is signalled as Not in the pass network as it is very fast which I don’t need, though if I just look in Antwerp to Brussels there are plenty I can use. Indeed all the trains I want are available individually.Can I simply book the three legs of the journey separately? If not, I’m in trouble.☹️Also: can one add journeys on the day of travel (after starting the trip) or do they all have to be booked into the App before boarding the first train of the day? As ever thank you again to whoever is kind enough to help the hapless

I’m looking to travel via train from London to Amsterdam on Dec. 20, 2025.  I was looking at passes as we will be traveling to other countries as well.  I understand that it will be booked via Eurostar, but does the pass not include weekend dates for reservations? Trying to find the cheapest way to travel :)

Hi, When wil the August train scheduled be available?I am trying to book seats for a direct train from Milan Centrale to Venice S. Lucia on Thu 8 Aug in the morning. We have 1st class Eurail passes, so would like to ensure I can reserve a seat in advance in case they have limited availability for Eurail pass holders.

I bought a 10 days global pass within 2 months. In the email and app it shows me there are 10 days in only 1 month. Why?

Could someone confirm whether or not Global Plus Pass first class allows making reservations free of charge for Prémium class on Renfe AVE trains in Spain? As this is the real first class that would be the whole point in buying the Plus Pass. Otherwise getting just the seat without the first class experience makes no sense to me.

Hi. Thank you for the answer. I'm not quite sure, I know what alvia is?! Is it a train or a bus? Is half an hour change time usually enough? We ( my family and I) are going by interrail, and I guess we can't go by bus? Best wishes Agnethe.

Does anyone know how to make a reservation on Eurostar for a bike and interrail. I do t want to buy the interrail reservation but then find I can’t reserve the same train for my bike. Planning a trip going out London to Brussels and back Brussels to London. Thanks 

I'm trying reserve seats but it gives an error. What can I do about this?

I’ve attempted to request a refund on both the app and the laptop. My pass is NOT activated. I have NOT began a travel day. I have a Plus ticket, so I’m entitled to a full refund. I sent the following email to support “I am entirely unable to request a refund for my pass. My pass has NOT been activated for a travel date, and I already deactivated it and deleted it from the "My Passes" section on the mobile app. I also tried requesting reimbursement for my laptop. This is incredibly frustrating since I followed all the guidelines and I'm entitled to 100% of the refund (for having a Plus pass). Please help me fix this ASAP.” and it automatically marked it as solved, but their little tutorial simply does not work on my phone or laptop.  “The account holder is to request the refund by following the below steps:-Log into your account. Go to 'Pass details' and then to 'Refunds and exchanges'.-Select the Pass you wish to request a refund for. -Please provide a reason for your refund request.-

Hello everyone. My semester abroad in Norway starts in mid-August and I am planning to travel from Germany to Norway with the Interrail Erasmus pass. Which country should I enter as my country of residence? Germany or Norway? Mainly because I plan to buy a 6-day pass and travel through Norway a few weeks later. The website says its the country in which you spend most of your time and this will change because of my travel. 

Hi, I have recently purchased a global 1 month pass, 4 days for travel from one place to another consecutively. I have to travel from London to Paris within the same month but later, is that possible. And if so, can I refund (or exchange) my passes for the global 1 month, 5 day travel? Thanks, Candy

We are getting the Eurostar into Paris and have booked the overnight train down to Cannes but only have 35 minutes to make the connection. Is this do-able? If we turn up early to check in at St Pancreas is there a chance they might put us on an earlier train or could I pay to change if there are spare seats? We are using a global pass but there are no seats on trains any earlier (Monday 4th August, 17:30 from London) . Looking at Google is says it is 14 minutes on the underground (Line 5) but I am not sure which way to go, get tickets etc just wondered if anyone had any advice

I purchased 6 Eurail passes for my family. I added their passes to my Eurail App. Booked the TGV train and paid reservation fee . I received pdf file with 6 tickets. But in my eurail app, it shows only me in the trip. How do I add others to that same trip?

I’m preüparing for my first trip with interrail and need some advice about setting things up on my mobile. Once again thanks again in advanc to the community who have been incredibly helpful already. I have two questions: When I “create a new trip” in the app is the pass just valid for the trains shown there? If I miss a connection and therefore have to deviate from the origional plan, I assume my pass will be valid for any train I then take. Or do I have to create a new trip so my pass is aligned to the new circumstances - also if I decide spontaneously to do something different? Once I’ve got the QR code - ist this just for the one trip or is this now my pass for any journey for the duration of my 5 day  “allowance”I didn’t realise how many wrinkles of uncertainty were going to manifest themselves. Hello (from the UK), I’m about to have a gap year and I am looking at getting a 3 month Global Pass (undecided on 2nd/1st class) and looking at doing as much as I can in as many destinations on as many train services (incl. couchettes) as feasible, does anyone have experience with visiting every country on the pass?
