Travelling by train

Hello, I have a question about prices for night  train in norway, we saw 91 € for a single cabin to sleep, We want to take 2 night train oslo bergen and oslo trondheim, but we are not sure about the prices.We are travelling as a couple and we are wondering if 91€ is for two or for one person.Thank you for your help 🙏 

OK. From what I remember, while the trains are fast and efficient in Europe, it is very difficult to navigate them with baggage, especially if there are numerous changes.At Bayreuth, I will need dress clothing so will most likely require more than one bag.  My next stop would be St Moritz, which involves four(!) changes on the journey.I’m thinking rail is not the best way to navigate this journey.  Even Frankfurt or other major city might be difficult but on a direct train manageable.

Hello. My wife and our two children are planning our first interrail adventure in the summer holidays, leaving London in mid July. Our initial idea is for a trip like this - London to Lyon, or Marseille, where we might spend a night or two. Then onto Levanto in Italy, where again we’ll stop and spend some time. Then back up through Switzerland, staying in Lucerne for a few days. Then back to London via either Paris or Brussels. This is very much a work in progress and we were just wondering if anyone had any advice on this sort of route, or anything we might be missing..?! For instance, is it worth travelling down to Marseille; is the train route along the coast to Italy a good one to take? Or are we better off reaching Levanto more directly via Turin or Lyon? Hi, I was wondering if someone would be able to help me plan what trains would be best to take. Im looking to take some high speed trains and overnight trains as well. Here's an overview of the dates I will be traveling.   Paris May 22-24 → leave on the 24th and head down to Nice Nice May 24-27 → leave the the 27th to Barcelona (overnight train if possible) Barcelona May 28-June 1 → leave for Florence or Rome morning of June 1 (high speed train if possible) 

Hi, i plan to do the Camino to Santiago de Compestella in September and travel afterwards to Portugal (and eventually return home to the Netherlands). Since i've never traveld with interrail before, what kind of ticket would i need (and what's the best route)?

Hello. My teen is traveling solo in Europe and has a Eurail Global pass. Their first day of travel is coming up, and the website says there’s a train leaving Orsieres, Switzerland at 13:44, no seat reservation required.  The SBB website confirms this.  But when my teen looks on the app, they can only see trains leaving one hour before and one hour after.  Help please?Thank you!

I am traveling from Zurich to Zermatt to St. Moritz (via Glacier Express) to Milan to Florence.I’m considering a 4-day Eurail Flex Pass instead of the Swiss Train Pass because of the Italy travel.I plan to take the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz (I know I need seat reservations), and prefer not to stay the night in St. Moritz.  I think I can take a combination of bus and train from St. Moritz to Milan and make it to Milan the same night.  I know the Zermatt to Milan trip will be a long day.This is the route Rome2Rio suggests from St. Moritz to MilanMy questions:Can I use the Eurail pass from Zurich to Zermatt? Our family we want to have pur summer holidays in UK. Leaving from Barcelona (our residence) to London and there travelling by train. Finally returning back to Barcelona.If our holidays are 14 days but not all the days we will travel (eg in London 3 nights without using), which kind of pass should I book? How I can see the map trip (stops, duration,...)? Can I use a sleeping train from Barcelona to London? Just with a Global pass can I do everything?Thank you

Hey guys,We’re taking the train from Charles de Gaulle to Nice and are travelling with our bikes (dismantled in bike boxes from the airport, they’ll fit the required dimensions).  How do I book the bikes on the TGV arm of the journey? Cheers :)

Hello everyone! my name is Joy and I’m from California, USA. I just found this community:) and never traveled by train before. My main question is how does this really work? lol . I built my itinerary from London but since there is not a lot information I was little confused😟 Do I hop on these trains? I assume I need to make reservations? are those extra $$? and I assume I hop off destination #1 explore and hop back to another train for destination #2 and so forth? and what about visas? ahhh, sorry for the questions but I don’t want to hit purchase without knowing what I'm doing.  Thank you all😊               

We are using Eurostar to travel from Amsterdam to Brussels, and several different TGVs to travel around France on an upcoming trip. How far in advance must strikes be announced? Is there a point where I can breathe a sigh of relief knowing a strike isn’t going to occur during our travel days?

Hello. I’ve never used an interrail pass before and wondered if anyone could offer any advice. We’d like to go for a week/nine days at the end of May, travelling from the UK, hopefully ending somewhere in Italy, before taking a different route home. Is this an okay length of time for a trip of that sort? Does anyone have any recommendations regarding itinerary? All advice gratefully received!! 

Hello :)I would like to ask you if someone was in Lapland (Rovaniemi) and attended a aurora hunt tour. Is it possible to do it by yourself (like to go the places by yourself?). Moreover, if someone attended a tour which would you recommend and what was the best and worst experience of it? 

Hello :) I would like to ask you if someone had made any experiences with skiing in Lapland (Levi or in other places).Actually, you can book a daily tour to go to the ski area, but I would like to know if it is possible to go and do it by yourself because the tours are a little bit too expensive. Any advice would be helpful (costs, transport, etc.).

Hello! This is my first time using Eurorail and travelling on Europe’s trains (I usually take planes) and just wanted to make sure that I have got everything right for my trip. Tomorrow I am taking the train from Amsterdam to Berlin. We have activated our card and bought our seats even though it said it was only recommended.Do I just show the QR code that it shows in my pass for the day?How long should we get there before the train leaves?Is there any customs? I have the photos of our eurorail stuff here, is this all correct? I found the site and seat reservations a bit confusing.  

A first timer here on using Interrail passes. I will be using a first class pass. I am going to travel from Hamburg to Venice with my family and we will use the Brenner route, traveling from Munich. I read that there was a supplement fee that you had to pay if you entered Italy from Austria. I bought my tickets through the ÖBB website, but I mistakenly booked them using the “Seat reservation only” option. I can’t get my tickets refunded, and I am worried that the ticket could be refused.I was wondering if it was possible to pay the supplement fee by local means instead. Can you speak to a staff member in Munich or on the train if you want to pay it there? If so how do we do this?

I am think I am might be really confused or doing this wrong. I purchased a 5 Day Global for one month. I have started to reserve the trips - Amsterdam to Antwerp, Brugge to Paris, Paris to Amsterdam. It looks like I could have gotten all of the tickets for $213 US by just buying them directly. Or, am I doing the reservation system wrong? So what is the benefit of the pass? 

I will be there in October.  Right now scheduled to fly home from Verona. Would prefer to fly home from Venice.  What are the fastest choices to travel from Verona via train to Venice?

We will be traveling from Sicily, through Florence to Lake Garda and eventually up to Paris with our mountain bikes.  They are expensive and I do not feel comfortable leaving them in the luggage area.  If we booked a family sleeper car, could we bring the bikes into the room?  Thanks, karen
