Hello everybody!I purchased an interrail global pass for one month with 4 travel days. After travelling from my country of residency, Switzerland, to Italy and getting back, the pass shows that I have used 2 out of 4 travel days, but also that 0/3 inbound/outbound days are used. So here I am a little bit confused: first, why do I have three inbound/outbound days instead of two? And second, how is it possible that the app registered the two travel days correctly, but does not mark the in- and outbound trips as well?And what does this mean for the 2 travel days I have left? Can I travel in and out of Switzerland again?Thanks in advance for your help!Best,Gianna

Hello people.We’ve got a European grand tour trip booked, coming up on the second weekend of September . We’ve got 2 passes paid for, but not yet activated.With the 20% off passes discount available this week, I think i could cancel the originals, buy the same on the deal with interail and then even with the penalties associated, be €120 up. I don’t want to be tight, but that’s a couple of nights in a hostel, or a nice dinner somewhere. Am I mad? travelling 7th.I have no wish to jepordise our travel plans. eurostar/sleeper train reservations are in place, but i can’t see that they are at all tied to (as yet unactivated) passes? 

Because our train to the destination where we had to take our last train was way to late we missed our last train to Madrid. As a result we needed to purchase new tickets in order to get to Madrid on the same day which cost us per person about 50€, although we have an Interrail Pass but the seats reserved for Interrail People were already booked out. How can we get our money back?Thank you so much in advance!!

I have used up a pass activated on 20 August which expires on 19 September.  I find I can’t make reservations on my new pass because any reservations I make go to the old pass!  Does anyone know how to delete the old pass or to connect reservations to the new pass or have any idea what I’m doing wrong?

Hey all,Does any of you ever did the Grand Train Tour in Switzerland?Curious about what not to miss on this journey and how you experienced it.I will be doing this one in a few weeks and i will try to visit all the stamp locations within 4 days.  

I unfortunately made a mistake planning my trip. I started my plan on friday within Germany. Since I didn’t realize I can‘t just travel within my home country I had to use the outbound-trip (without actually leaving the country). Now I want to actually leave Germany tomorrow and am afraid that the pass won’t work because I only have the inbound ticket left, but the journey is outbound… does it matter? 

So - largely thanks to the community I enjoyed three weeks travelling with my five day pass, which of course has now been used up.The question now is how do I plan the next trip? Do I delete the app from my phone, start from scratch and buy the next 5 day trip with a new Passnumber etc in order to activate the pass? Basically the same procedure as when I first got the app and activated the pass.Or if I’m logged in, will the site will recognise that I already have the app with its Passnumber staying the same and I just need to buy and add another 5 day trip to it?  As ever, thanks in advance for your help

So I would like to travel in the Balkans But it look like in Bosnia trains and it’s tough if you go down the coast of Croatia is there somebody that have a good travel map when you travel this places to know with the train

I can’t add more than one trip to my pass. The trips are on different days. Help !

Is there a direct train from Munich to Prague?

Good evening rail community I am planning to travel from Budapest to Bratislava on Sunday 19 October In the process I want to tick off another country visited so I thought it may be fun to make a very quick stopover in Bratislava The 08:12 to 10:44 trip from Budapest to Bratislava (Hlavna Stanica station) looks fine. Then will probably move on to Prague from Bratislava 12:26 to 16:39 (Regiojet) or the 13:58 to 18:18 (Metropolitan). What would you recommend between these two choices? Then I also need recommendations for the the short stayover.  Will probably want to keep onto my suitcase here.  Or is there left luggage storage available)? Also would you recommend reserving seats with  first class pass? Thanks!

To the Eurail Community,I recently returned from a trip to Europe using a Eurail pass but was unfortunately charged a penalty fare of 50 euros when travelling over the French/German border on a train from Strasbourg to Offenburg. I’m still not 100% what the issue was but I had either not activated the day ticket before boarding the train or had activated the day ticket but had not validated the journey that I wanted to make by using the little toggle button in the app. Has anyone had a similar experience of this with an Interrail/Eurail pass and did anyone get reimbursed?I wonder also whether people think the ticket inspector who charged me was a bit unfair? It seems she could have allowed me to get off at the next stop so I could select and activate another later journey going to the same destination. We had the conversation in French (not my first language) and I felt she was very tough and inflexible with the situation. Not a nice experience and poor customer

Hi, I’m new to the Eurorail pass (not new to traveling, just have never gotten a Eurorail pass before) and plan on going to France, Switzerland and Italy in December 2025 (with a day trip to London and a day trip to Strasbourg some of the days).  I’m assuming it’s probably better to get a Eurorail pass for this trip, instead of buying one-way tickets between each destination (some destinations are day trips too).  Is this correct?  Any tips?  We will be in Paris for a week and then going to Switzerland and then Italy the remainder of the trip.  Thanks!

I have a query with Romanian Railways CFR  Calatori, but I am getting very confused answers. Here is the query trail:Dear Sirs,I have a ticket from Sibiu to Medias for 2 people on the 17:32 arriving 19:01 on 8th September on train R2567.  Ticket ID 29739615However when I look on your website at the timetables this train does not appear, only the R2569 at 19:35 arriving 21:07I need to be in Medias to catch the sleeper train to Wien which leaves Medias at 21:37 and I am worried about the short handover.Is the 17:32 running that day? If not, is my ticket valid on the 19:35? Will I definitely make my sleeper connection at Medias?

Hi I am intending to get eurail pass for 10 days for Xmas 1.i understand I might need to book some seat and according to the eurail site. It direct us to oebtickets. My quest is how to I link my eurail w the seat reservation. Or I just show the train master seperately my eurail pass on app and download seat pdf. Also my child is only 10yo, may I know if the system will try to put us together. My worry is he might be seperate fr either of us. 2. Does the site oebtickets works for all cities train. We are doing a long trip for 10 cities. Like to settle once on a single site 3. My trip is Dec. Is it too early now to make seat reservation? Are the schedule stable to booknow? TIA

Hi, we’re planning our interrail trip with 7 days global pass for the first two weeks of september. We’d like to visit main European capitals (Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna and finishing up with sea in the Balkans). We live in the south of Italy and we’d rather to travel exclusively with the pass, preferabily minimizing seat reservation and additional costs. Do you think that’s possible leaving from Lamezia Terme? With which itinerary? We are especially in difficulty with inbound and outbound days 😩🙏🏻🫶🏻

To the Interrail community,I’m planning on spending around 4-5 days in Switzerland, probably using Interlaken as a base. I would appreciate any recommendations for things to do - I was planning on doing a couple of nice hikes, maybe go for a swim somewhere in nature and take a gondola up the mountains. I was thinking of visiting Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald but other suggestions would be welcome.  I’m on a budget and do not drive so places that are fairly accessible by train would be helpful. I’m also into sustainability so would prefer to avoid lots of tourists - I realise this is harder to do during the summer!Thanks,Felix

Hi! We are two travellers going from Budapest to Zagreb the 29th of August by train and would want to know if there is other people that are doing the same route as we are having trouble taking the trains. 

Because of some spare days this year I want to try an interrail trip during the cold season. And I'm curious how Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve is celebrated in other parts of europe. My plannings are to start in the middle of Germany around 21.12.25 and go to SW/S/SE of europe by train (15 days global pass) and to reach my home around 03.01.26.Maybe someone would accompany me on some or all stages?This sounds very vague (I already know 😊) but I'm open for new experiences and nice suggestions.

I can't log in to my discover EU app. I was logged in yesterday and was planning to travel tomorrow but it won't allow me to log in. Initially the error message said to get the interrail eurail app instead (I think I accidentally made an account but I have since deleted that account) but now the error message says they are having technical difficulties. What should I do? I tried to reset my password and that didn't work and logging in with socials (Google) also doesn't work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am traveling tomorrow ☺️Thanks

Hello fellow travelers! We fly into Zurich, Switzerland ( was cheaper than Munich) and take a train to Immenstadt, Germany (south-west of Munich) to visit family. Next, we plan on traveling from Immenstadt, Germany to Bolzano/ Bozen, Italy. Then travel from Bolzano/Bozen (Italy) back to Zurich to fly home to America. I’m trying to avoid having to be routed to Munich to get to Bolzano/Bozen Italy and from Bolzano Bozen , Italy back to Munich to get to Zurich, Switzerland. It adds a lot of time to the train trip. 6.5 hours of travel total. I’ve tried a few combinations, like going form Immenstadt to Salzburg, Austria and each time I’m routed through Munich first. Is there a way to avoid Munich or is it a hub and I can not be  avoided? Also is it worth upgrading to 1st class? I bought second class passes and thought I could book 1st class sits for the longer trips but that’s not an option. So I’m wondering if I should upgrade both passes to 1st

Hi everyone,I’ve run into a problem while planning my Interrail trip. It looks like there are currently no trains running from Bulgaria to Greece. I found an alternative: taking the train from Sofia to Kulata, then crossing the border and catching a train from Strimon in Greece to Thessaloniki.Has anyone done this before and knows the best way to get across the border? Or does anyone know of an easier solution?Thanks ;)
