Eurail & Interrail Passes

Hello, i activated my France Germany pass on the 2nd of December and on my rail planner app it says that my ticket is valid from the 2nd December to 1st of January. i thought that the France Germany pass was only valid until the end of 2023, or does this refer to the activation date ? So the question is, can I still use one trip on the 1st of January 

I would like tot go from Holland to Poland by plane and from Poland to Holland by train. Is it possible to check in somewhere else than your home country?

If I’m traveling from Greece to Edinburg, Scotland, can I take Eurorail Global Pass on any of this journey?

Hello, my name is Jeff. I'm planning a solo backbacking trip through Europe for 3 months beginning mid March. I'm traveling through Scotland, Wales, London, France, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Greece and Croatia. Trying to figure out if a pass is in order or if I should just wing it. Any advice would be appreciated!

So I'm basically citizen of Iran but I study and have residency permit in Turkey. For that reason I chose interrail and purchased it. Now when I want to activate my interrail global pass it asks for my ID Document and it shows my country of residence as Turkey. Do I have to write my Turkish Residency Permit ID in there or my passport number (which also has schengen stamp on it). Thing is if I write my passport number then the country of residence on my ticket will be different than my nationality.. so I should just write my Turkish Residency ID? Btw I have a proof that I am a resident in Turkey (I have the residency ID card) and I guess thats enough right?This one I mean, the residence country should match the ID number of my Turkish residency card right? not my Iranian passport number?Thank you so much in advance

For reference I have tried all Swiss border points today using my pass. Looks like it works as intented.Does not trigger :- Geneva - Bellegarde and further- Geneva - Annemasse and further (even though Annemasse is the official border point)- Vallorbe - Dole and further- Basel SBB - Mulhouse and further- Basel SBB - Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf and further- Basel Bad Bf - Lörrach (stations listed as being in Germany while they're not)- Basel Bad Bf - Schaffhausen- Schaffhausen - Singen- St. Margrethen SG - Bregenz- Buchs SG - Feldkirch- Chiasso - MilanTriggers :- Neuchâtel/Travers - Pontarlier : Les Verrières (Fr) is the border point, no stop but you can get a ticket at counters (I tried)- Le Locle - Morteau and further : Le Locle (Fr) is the border point. Tickets should be available at counters (haven't tried).Border p

Hi,I am travelling saturday morning (in 36 jours) from Lyon to Zürich and then have my intinerary planned. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything.So tomorrow I just have to go to the train station and find the train I saw on my interrail app and saved in « my trip » then simply hop on the train ? If someone talks to me on board, I just have to show them the QR code on the app for that trip since it’s marked that « seat reservations are optional » right? That’s it? Is there anything else I have to know or do? Do I need to print something ? All the trains I chose do not require seat reservation and I am planning to buy an external battery to make sure I always have my data for controls.

Quick question - Paris to Geneva 21st May '24 showing as bookable on SNCF site - but interrail (shows times but says - "Prices for this journey will start to be available 90 days before departure" - I just need a seat reservation.I guess this means the interrail allocation hasn't been made available yet.... is this correct? wenn ich mein interrail pass aktiviere obwohl ich in 10 tagen anreise wie ist das dann? ist es 1 monat lang gültig? mein pass ist 7 tägig?? wie ist es? muss ich es direkt benutzen nach dem aktivieren? ich werde nur zweimal fahren kann ich dann bis 20. januar noch 5 mal mein ticket benutzen ?

I have booked 4 interrail global passes and want to travel from Stockholm to Narvik on 2nd Jan.I’m struggling to book seats or a sleeper.  Interrail and rail Ninja show that there is availability but the SJ website show the trains are fully booked for the next few weeks. Every time I go to reserve the seats through the my internal booking, the prices show but it won’t let me proceed. I am also really unsure how many are in each berth. I want to ensure my family of 4 travel together. I’m really hoping someone might be able to help as I’ve spent ages and feel I’m going round in circles and getting nowhere! Many thanks

I am a Chinese citizen holding a Chinese passport, and currently living in Switzerland holding a Swiss residence card. Not long ago, I ordered 2 passes on the eurail website as a Chinese passport citizen. Is this pass available?

First time in the forum here,I tried to book night trains for our 2024 summer travel Yet, I don’t seem to be able to book the train from Vienna to Venice for June 23 2024. The calendar became greyed out after June 16 2024. I did read on the Eurail Night train page that the night train from Munich to Rome is not run from June 12th through August 9th, 2024. I see no blackout dates for the night train from Vienna to Venice, so not sure what happened. I was under the impression that the new train schedule was released on December 10, but does it mean we will have to wait a bit closer to 180 days for reserving the cabins?? Thank you

hi, I have an Eurail Global Pass, trying to book online London to manchester on January 4th , 2024 but can not fond the way to do that online. my question is if it is possible and if not if I shoud do it at the Avantti Station in person or what are my best options?

Hi,Starting the 2024 timetable there are new, dynamic prices for the Nightjet trains from ÖBB. A Dutch railforum wrote about it. I just booked tickets on the Nightjet between Munich and Venice in spring but I can’t get any discount on it while I could get it previously. No matter if you book with or without the discount, you get the same price. You can try for yourself. Now it becomes not interesting anymore to get an Interrail for my favourite route between Amsterdam and Italy. I might have to ask a refund for my unusued Interrail passes.I complained about this with the ÖBB Customer Service last week, but no reaction yet. Did any of you read any official communication about it? Similar experiences? 

Hi, We will arrive in the EU on December 19th. (1 Senior and 2 Adults). I activated the mobile pass for the two adults on December 19th, but the Senior Passenger's birthday is on December 21st (60th). I am unable to activate the pass because it will only be valid on December 21st. I must have missed or forgotten that her first trip begins on her birthday. We paid for a seat reservation on the 20th of December. Is it possible for her to board the train and we will just pay the difference or a rail fare? Thanks in advance

Hello,We are a family of 4 from Australia travelling for 3 weeks (from last week of Jan to mid Feb) with our kids aged 15 and 8.We aim to tour the following countries - London > Amsterdam >Paris > Barcelona > Rome > Milan > back to London. I am planning to buy a global pass with 7 travel days in one month. This ticket will cost $1390 usd for 1st class and $1000usd 2nd class.However, I am confused with all the reservation fees that are bumping the prices up. The costs are surely adding up such that I am asking myself whether taking the plane or Eurostar is much better? Or maybe I cannot afford to travel and see other countries.Can you please advise if there is anything that I might be missing? Can I avoid paying reservation on some of the route? Where can I get the cheapest accommodation? Lastly, am I making a wrong decision touring Europe with kids in winter? I am hoping to utilize the winter more for the travel.Many Thanks!!

I want to buy the 5-day flexi Global Pass, but I have a question, I am going to take the night train from Munich to Budapest and then the night train from Budapest to Krakow, neither of them change trains and both would be within 24 hours. . I don't know if in those conditions they count as one day or if it would be 2 days, if you could help me please 😥

i have a eurail pass but they dont have a ticket so they tall me to buy in acprail can i just buy reservation and show the worker the pass or do i have to buy the reservation and ticket? my plan is london to manu

I am french and I’d like to do a 1 month travel,according to you how many countries can I visit ?  Is it a good idea to travel from Northern countries to Southern countries ?  Can I depart from an other country rather than my home country ?Thanks a lot  

hi I purchased 15 days pass but struggling to book any seats from 31st December to 15th January  via euro rail.is there any other way I can reserve the seat or cancel my pass .

Hello,I hold the Interrail France-Germany Pass which is a Flexipass of 7 days within 1 month. My country of residence is Germany but I am currently already traveling in France and have not used my outbound ticket to get here. (I came by other means of transport)So what I would like to do is:travel days 1-3: within France (I already used them)travel day 4: Montpellier - Cologne =  inboundtravel day 5: Cologne - Montpellier = outbound travel day 6+7: within France The question is: Is it possible to use the inbound before the outbound journey? (Normally it would be the other way around) And is it possible to travel within France when I have already used out+inbound? thanks a lot!
