To ask all about our Passes, reservations & more
Hi!I want to travel from Grenoble (FR) to Torino (IT).I see that there are some trains that do not allow passholders (Ok), others that have a big price (again, understood although not happy with it) and others that have the 33 eur price. In the eurail website I see that the price for seat reservations in FR-IT trains is 31 eur (+ 2 eur for the fee), so it fits. But, when I click on any of the trains with the marked “33 eur”, the figure changes to 58 eur. Why is it? Is it a bug? How can I book a seat for 31+2 eur? Thanks to all of you!
Hello! Can anyone tell me how do I have to write my train routes on the pass? Most of the train routes I have planned I have to change trains and do transfers between cities, so I am not sure if I have to write all the changes, or just the start and final point.Thank you :)
Hi fellows Travellers !My girlfriend and I plan to visit germany with the france germany rail pass ! We already plan our trip with some mandatory seat reservations, but 2 of our trains didn't required any reservations. We wanted to know if we should still pay an extra for reservations for the trains if we want to travel next to each other , or the day of our travel, at presentation of our pass, we will be seated asides ? Thanks for your return ! And if you used rail planner as group / couple and if you had any issues or not with seats having your advises / tips would be great :) Have a good day and good travel :)
Good morning. I need to ask a question regarding the tickets for high speed trains. We do have the tickets (with Qr code) in which it is specified that the seat reservation is required, but we were not able to make it for the selected trains. Can we take the train in any case or we need to switch to national trains?Looking forward to hearing from youThank you
Hi! I am doing an interrail with my cousins, and had a problem with the train due to the weather. We had reserved tickets (via seat reservation policy) from Ljubljana to Zurich for August 4, more specifically from Villach to Salzburg and then from Salzburg to Zurich. We had done the seat reservations on August 3As we were leaving Ljubljana headed to Zurich the 4 of August, at 7h26, we were told after waiting 40min on the train that the latter couldn’t proceed with the journey because of the rain (it had some implications with the railway). Afterwards, we had to wait more than an hour to get a substitution train from Ljubljana to Villach. The problem is that we were late for the next two trains we had to catch, of course. Hence we were not able to reserve seats for those two trains, as they were already booked. Thus, we could not enjoy the seats we had reserved, and paid for nothing, due to the delay caused regarding the first train from Ljubljana. Therefore, I would like to know if we
When traveling with a first-class interrail ticket in Sweden (with SJ), it seems the first class reservation still costs twice as much as second class. I find this a bit disappointing considering I already paid more for the first-class ticket itself. So this gets even more expensive. Does it really make sense to have a 1st class interrail ticket when traveling Scandinavia?
Hello, I am planing to take the train from Verona to Venice. To get to mine end destination, after taking the train I need to take a ferry. Can I use my interrail card for the ferry as well on the same travel day? I hope somebody can help me out.:) Kind regards, Carmen

Hugo, our Eurail/Interrail Product Specialist, seasoned traveler and self-labeled train nerd, had the opportunity to ride the European Sleeper on their inaugural trip in June. We sat down with him to get all the details about the train and the route. What was the first thing that left an impression on you?It is a classic train. The sleeper cars were built in the 50’s, and most of them have a window you can open. Train lovers will definitely love this feature. The views were excellent. These old trains are rare so this is a unique train to travel on. By taking the European Sleeper, you can see Western and Eastern Europe on the same trip! How were the staff onboard?Super friendly and professional! They welcomed passengers on board and explained how everything worked. They were more like hosts than train staff, which was great for newbies. Did they serve food and drinks?Yes, offerings included soft drinks, a weizen, and croissants for breakfast. There was no dining car, so passengers had
Hi all, I bought two tickets as seats reservation for my friend and I, at once. But my friend will finally not take the same train than me, so I wish to cancel one ticket but not both. Is it possible to do so, and if so, how ? Or do I have to cancel reservation of both tickets and book again a single one for me only ?Thanks a lot!RegardsArnaud
Looking at buying an interrail pass for a long journey. The eurostar 1st class is all sold out and the rest of the journey will be sleeper, so there’s only part of the journey (Zurich to Wörgl) that I would to take business class. Can I purchase 2nd clas reservations and then buy an upgrade? From 2nd to 1st, then pay the 15 euro supplement for business. The difference in interrail pass classes (£180) is cheaper than buying this ticket separately (£310) so cheaper for me to get the 1st class pass than buying it separately, but if I could have 2nd class and an upgrade, that would be better.
Hello everybody! It’s the first time I am doing Interrail and I am kind of confused about travel day. I want to take a train from Frankfurt to Ljubljana that last 12 hours : it starts at 7:30pm on the 16th and arrives at 8:30am on the 17th with a change at 10:30 on the 16th. Does it count as one travel day or two ? Thank you very much for your answer!
I am not able to generate the QR code for the Inbound/ outbound journey with my One Country Pass. Any advice?
Hello! i want to know how to activate the in and out fonction. I have a one country pass to Italy and I live in Switzerland so I just need the ticket to get to Italy for the first day of my travel. We are trying to book reservations upcoming in 5 days from Amsterdam to Cologne. When I follow the step of the eurail site and try to add two reservations to my cart, the page bounces the request out of my cart and restarts to zero in cart. Anybody have experience on how to proceed and buy reservations? Does this mean the train is full and all reservations are gone? I am not seeing any alert that they are gone, and no other info on why the reservations aren’t able to be bought.thank you!

I want to go Frankfurt to Luxembourg but I have to make transfer in Koblenz Hbf. I can do reservation in Frankurt to Koblenz Hbf. But I can't do Koblenz Hbf to Luxembourg. Will it be a problem? Can I travel anyway? Where will we be sitting on the train if we don't have reservation? I'm confused because I have to go there that day so I wanted to ask? And also I wanted to ask I did some of my reservations online.I have my QR codes in my mail. When we go to the station is it okay to show only Interrail Pass and Qr code?
Hello,I bought a 1-month Pass and I will book seat reservations. I want to ask 2 questions because I am confused.1. I will use a lot of trains, so I don't want to deal with different railway companies' websites. So if I make the reservations through the Interrail website, will I have any problems? After making a reservation, will I have a problem such as not having a train at the reservation time or having an invalid ticket?. Because I saw that it is recommended to buy from railway companies in many articles.2. I will activate the Interrail Pass on my phone. As far as I understand, there is no connection between the phone and the account I opened on the computer. So do I have to make reservations from my phone?Thank you :)
I’ll be travelling through the Baltic states (from Warsaw to Helsinki) and there are no timetables in Interrail for them. I have a four day interrail pass, and I found the route I want to take on other websites. Before I add it to my pass manualy, how do I make sure, that the train tickets for that rout are covered by my pass?
My wife and I have global passes, and are meeting our son, who does not have a global pass and is joining us for only part of the trip. I am trying to make train rez on a train from Budapest to Prague for the three of us, so we can be seated together. The app does not allow me to do this. Any suggestions?ThankyouChris and Patti
Hello together,I plan on going on my first interrail journey in about a month with a 7 day global pass. And I know that one can split their days of travel over the whole month, still I'm not sure about the following topic:I think of visiting spain for around a week, using 3-4 of my travel days, and visiting Amsterdam for a Weekend, using 2 of those travel days. Still, I plan on coming back to my country of residence in between these journeys and I recently heard, that with an interrail pass you can only leave/arrive your country of residence once. So, what I am basically asking is: Is that true? I did not find an answer addressing this issue, maybe someone else knows. Thank you in advance,Lisa :)
Hello there!First time using interrail… I plan to go from Paris to Lund in Sweden on August 17th. When I try to pay for my seat reservations it says that the connection cannot be booked right now. So I tried yesterday and now today again. It seems like there is a problem of connection around Hamburg.I checked DB website and there it says that the Manheim Hbf - Hamburg Hbf trip is cancelled. However there is an arrow and then it says Hamburg-Altona. Does anybody know if that means that the train will still go to Hamburg but stop at Altona station instead of Hbf?In this case I would be up for any tip regarding the quickest way to go from Altona to Hbf ^^Thank’s a lot in advance!Madou
My wife and I have 3-month Global Pass 1st Class. So far, so good, but after patiently waiting for prices for seat reservations to appear for late October 2023, it looks like the only option for a seat reservation on the ECB85 Direct from Munich to Venice is 2nd Class. This could mean one of two or three things: 1. 1st Class pass holders don’t need a seat reservation and “you are ready to board” really applies. 2. 1st Class pass holders cannot reserve a 1st class seat and may or may not get a 1st class seat depending on availability. Or maybe 3. There are no 1st class seats on the ECB85? I think #3 doesn’t apply because I checked Seat 61 and there are photos. I’m wondering if I want comfort and piece-of-mind:, A. Do I have to reserve 2nd Class? Or, B. I should stop worrying and just show up for my ECB85 train without a seat reservation because there should be two first class seats available on the ECB85 from Munich to Venice in late October? Appreciate your thoughts on this an
