Eurail & Interrail Passes

We are currently booking our trains from 15 december.  The eurail planner doesnt currently list the trains so we have booked  our reservation directly with OBB and Leo Express but obviouslynot paid for tickets On the Eurail apP, do we have the assign the travel days?  Do we enter manually or have to wait until they show?   What happens when someone asks us to see the tickets? We just wanted to lock in the seats and trains as far in advance as we could  

I bought two eurail globzl passes. One for myself and one for my partner it has linked to my email address but when he tries to log in with the password number and his email it doesnt work. can i reassign his pass to his email? graeme

I would like to know if with my sweden interrail pass I can travel in any bus or boats.Thanks a lot. 

Hello wise friends!Last Dec/Jan was our first experience with the Eurrail pass and could not have been more pleased with it.  Our route was Berlin | Hamburg | Amsterdam | Nuremburg | Vienna | Salzburg | Munich.  Also did some day trips on the side.  We reserved seats on some, but not all the trains.  It all went like clockwork.This year we are coming at the end of October and going to Porto | Lisbon | Southern Spain (Seville and other cities we haven’t exactly decided on yet) | Madrid | Barcelona.I’m just wondering whether the Eurrail pass would give us the same value, or whether we are better off using the Portuguese and Spanish train systems.  A few things I have read have indicated that that could be the case, especially as we are in off-season, so may not strike the problem of booked ou:)t trains.  We are not great with planning ahead, so will not be booking individual trains in advance!  And I don’t think we can go fully by train from Lisbon to Seville?  Or ne

Hi, I’m planning a Christmas markets trip (primarily in Germany) with stops in Essen, Aachen, Koln, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Esslingen, Konstanz and Strasbourg.  My question is whether it’s possible and optimal to take the train from Freiburg to Offenburg then changing trains to a TER going from Offenburg to Strasbourg.  Would I travel from Freiburg to Kehl using the Eurail Pass and then purchase a separate ticket through SNCF from Kehl to Strasbourg for about 5 euro to cover the border crossing?  I assume that I’m effectively having two tickets for the same physical train trip from Offenburg to Strasbourg.  I haven’t been able to find the option to purchase train tickets not covered by the pass in the Rail Planner app.  The only purchases through that I can make appear to be seat reservations and loading the pass.  Thanks in advance for any insight.

We’ll start using our 3-month global passes soon and I’ve set up a Trip with journeys - how do I share this with my partner’s phone? The dropdown only lists Edit / Duplicate / ShowInWidget. And where does this widget appear after creation? Nothing shows up on the home screen. 

I travelled alone as a newly born senior, and went through Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania and on from there to Greece. I was delighted to find interrailing more similar to cherished memories of interrailing as a teen than what could have been expected, though a little less risky. We had heatwaves, engine breakdowns, and long layovers in unusual locations, and I had great conversations all along. It turns out travelling solo as a 60 year old lady is great. So much tension is taken out of social situations, and I found young people, in particular, to be interested as well as interesting in long conversations. I embraced the occasional discomfort and - apologies for the cheesiness - found my own self en route by way of it. By that, I mean my ‘shape’ in the world, relocated by rubbing up against the world. I’m based in Bergen (Norway) and planning a trip towards central Europe with a global pass. My current plan is:day1: take the train from Bergen to Oslo on my pass and then take a night bus (not on pass) to Hamburg. travel in Europe with my passday 5: arrive in Oslo after taking another night bus and take the train from Oslo to Bergen.  Would these train trips count as inbound/outbound trips? I'm a bit unsure, as I won't be crossing a border by train

if I have a pass and I’ve made seat reservations, can I still get a refund for the pass if I cancel my trip?

We are planning on flying into London next September and working on a train trip in the route below. We are both retired, and USA Residents. First time traveling train in Europe. This may change slightly, may fly home from Barcelona, may travel back to London, and leave/fly home from there depending on cost in September ‘26. A bit early to get flight prices.Itinerary plans are to stay in London 7-8 Days, then 2-4 days (3 Days rounded) at each stop.Probably 4 Days in Paris, 4 Days in Amsterdam, then 3 days on the rest of the train destinations.Being 65 both of us we are still working out how our baggage is going to work out (2 large bags, 2 carry on. May be doing Air BNB at most places or just bite it and do hotels through Expedia. We want to have a memorable and enjoyable time traveling and will more than likely do 1st class all the way as much as we can. I bought my mobile pass on the 11th of December last year (2024) , IT says:’ activate this pass by 11. November 2025.’ When is the last date I can use any of the four dates of my global pass?

Hi all,I’m planning a trip to Spain next month, and I’m still trying to understand how to navigate the Spanish train system, the apps, and the process. So far, I’ve booked my Eurail Pass for Spain, and I’ve also made my seat reservations through Rail Europe. At the moment, I’m using two apps: Rail Planner App – which shows my Eurail Pass ticket/QR code for it Rail Europe App – which shows my seat reservation ticket / QR code for it  At the station, do I need to present both of these tickets? Please correct me if I’m wrong.I’m still trying to understand how the whole train journey flow works.

I have created a new trip on which I am taking my daughter.  I have created this trip including her  in the desktop log in for the trip.  However on the mobile app she is not in the trip.  On the mobile app on my phone can she be in the same trip or do I need to add her separately or get her to create a trip herself on her own mobile?

I installed the Intterail App on my smartphone and organized the complete trip with all connections there. For our journey we want to use the phone of my wife, because its newer and more reliable. Is there any way to transfer the data of de trip from one app to the other, for example via the pass numbers registered in the app?

Does anyone know how to get a refund to a different credit card.   My partner bought a pass last March and has started a refund.  The process assumes that it’s on the same credit card but he’s got a new one (lost the old one).  So he needs to get the refund onto the new card ( or another way).   Is there a process for this?  Thanks. 

I have a Global Pass with a fully planned trip in the Railplanner app on my smartphone. I acquired it on 30/03/2025. The trip starts 13/09/2025.I get notifications in the Railplanner that I have to start planning a trip to keep my Pass active. They came in various shapes. Today I got one saying “Tomorrow is a travel day, but you haven’t added any journeys to your Pass yet.”In the app, I can see the Trip with all the travel days and journeys with all the train information; for each leg, I can see the check-box colored yellow and in the rightmost position. It seems like an Interrail central database is not aware of the information in my Railplanner app.When I login to my account on the interrail website, I can see my pass but no trip. I could recreate it there but I don’t want to do that because it is not clear to me if and how the data there is synchronized with the data in my smartphone Railplanner app.Interrail seems to be aware that I will be traveling

I have reserved seats for my journey on an Avanti West Coast train through the ACP Rail website, but there wasn't a booking reference space where I could enter my pass number?Does anyone know how you can claim the train tickets for the journey (if needed), or do you simply show your eurail pass when asked for your ticket, when on the train? 

In the mobile app, I have two passes (one for me, one for my wife). It is a 5 day flex pass. We have 5 different trips between cities. Should I create one trip in the app and add each of the city trips to that or should I create a separate trip in the app for each city trip? Also, I notice I have to duplicate trips and add to the other pass. When I reserve seats, how will my wife and I be assured to sit together? Thanks for your help.

If I buy a EURail 30 day pass would it include the city public transport for example the city underground,busses and tram transport

We activated our pass for 9/8/2025 that’s good until 11/08/25, how come it’s not working for us? And the error is that the pass has been used?And how to we reserve seats? 

Hello all, I am currently on a three-months Interrail pass, which I am using for several return trips outside of my home country (Italy). I am not staying on the road for the whole three months, so I will need more than the one inbound and one outbound trip that are included with the pass.Basically for every trip I buy regular tickets from home to the border and back, and once I am outside of Italy I use the Interrail pass. It is a very flexible way of travelling that suits me.But there’s one thing that is really unclear. Actually I am quite a veteran of Interrail passes, and in all these years of asking hundreds of train conductors I was never able to get a definitive answer.I need to know if, for trips out of Italy (my country of residence) into Austria, I need to buy a ticket to Brenner (and from there onwards use the interrail pass) or to Innsbruck (or it could be the first town in Austria, but for these trips I’m using EC trains that call at Brenner and Innsbr
