Hello,We're still learning about the inbound/outbound travel concept and would appreciate clarification. We're located in Northern Germany and want to visit Trieste as first stage, which would involve a very long journey.Would it be possible to break up our trip by taking the night train from Northern Germany to Augsburg (which is still within Germany), spending a day there, and then continuing to Trieste on a separate day?For our return journey, we'd like to do the same thing in reverse - travel to Augsburg, stay there briefly, and then complete the final trip back to Northern Germany on another day, since this would also be quite a long single journey. Is this type of multi-stage itinerary allowed under the in- and outbound travel rules? Thanks and best regards,Thorsten
To the Eurail/Interrail community,I’m planning a trip to Switzerland and getting there via The Black Forest (Schwarzwald) in south west Germany.I would appreciate any travel ideas - I’d be interested in stopping off in a nice town but I’m really keen to get outdoors and do some hiking. Anywhere with easy train access would be good. Thanks,Felix
Hi, I'm so confusing... I don't understand if I have to use my interrail pass ticket ( 7 trip in one months) or Is there another pass to activate to come back in my country (Italy)? For example I finish my interrail at Genova, in Genova can I activate the pass to come back in Rome or not?Thank you I Hope someone answers me
Hi community, in case of control is it possible to show my QR code from the Discover EU app? My pass is from this program and I tried to log in interrail/eurail and added my pass but it says that it’s impossible because I get a discover EU pass.help methanks
I’m struggling with trying to figure out if a 4 day Greek Island Ferry Pass will be useful. As a non-European (Canadian) I understand that I cannot use an Interrail pass, rather we need a Eurail pass. To purchase the pass is quite easy but I don’t want to do that until I’m sure that my routes would be included. When I enter my first leg into the trip planner (Athens to Aegina) It gives me this message: “Sorry, we can’t show this entire journey. You can try to split it up into multiple journeys”.It’s a very short (30 minute) ferry trip so I don’t understand why it would need to be split. As well, the Eurail splash page shows Aegina as one of the Greek Islands I can sail to with the pass. I am specifically looking to travel:September 23 - Athens to AeginaSeptember 26 - Aegina to NaxosOctober 2 - Naxos to Heraklion, CreteIf anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful. Thank you in advance.
As a single woman travelling how safe is it with the sleepers trains? Any top tips would be greatly appreciated 👏
Hi guys,I’m organizing my first trip in the Baltics and I was thinking about moving with LuxExpress, since trains are not the best around there. I was considering a night-bus from Warsaw to Vilnius and then day buses for Vilnius-Riga-Tallinn. Someone more experienced than me can please tell me if LuxExpress is a good company? How are the night-buses and the buses in general? Most importantly, is it safe to book now for August? And finally, how can I get a discount if I’m less than 26 y/o?I’m more accustomed to trains so I have no clue of how buses are or work… 😅Thank you very much in advance
Hey, I'm Émile, 19 from France.I'm about to go for a one-week trip around Western Europe, so I'm just leaving that here in case somebody crosses my path and wants to meet up.I'll start in Lille tomorrow (5th of August), then I'll stay in Ghent on the 6th. On the 7th I haven't planned anything yet, on the 8th I'll stay in Amsterdam. Then it's all free, I'll let things flow, so if you're somewhere else, I could go 😁I'd like to go through Germany and Switzerland to go back home (I live in Lorraine), maybe around the 10-12 (maybe later, depends how much money I have left), but nothing's fixed yet.I speak French, English, German, Hungarian, Russian btw.
Hello trying to book a reserved seat. Need to do it at the station and no one understands the Eurail pass. I am in Bulgaria. cannot help please?
Hey, I live and study in the netherlands but I don't have a official rental agreement and I´m not officially registered in the netherlands. Is it possible to use my student ID / Proof of enrolment as a official residency document, so I can choose netherlands as my country of residence? Generally, is there a general rule what counts as a general residency document? Happy to get some help with that :) GreetingsRikky
Per què serveix el planificador de la web interrail un cop tens descarregat el Rail Planner al mòbil? T'aporta algun servei afegit?
I’m into my second class pass for a few days now in Norway. I’m having no luck reservation of seat on train if it’s required through eurail app. Entur website seems to require i buy ticket to reserve seat which doesn’t make sense. I have to call customer service to reserve seat, lengthy wait but i get the reservation for seat. Why is this so difficult? I am thinking of upgrading to first class pass. Any suggestions?
Hi guys!I know I have to activate the Flex Pass in the app by scheduling its 1-month validity period by 31st of August 2025, but I don’t know when I will travel or where, so I have no idea which day I will start my trip. Will I lose my pass if I don’t do it? Can I pick a random date and change it when I will plan my trip? Any help would be really appreciated.Thank you,Maria
I saved two trip with two different names for my up and coming visit to England. Without my consciously doing so, the app has linked the SECOND of these trip to my pass, even though the dates is obvious after the first trip. Will this be the one I get when I activate my pass? In which case I really have to start again otherwisew I’ll be out of synchronisation. (How) Can I do this? HEEELP
If I just delete the journey can I start again and make sure it doesn’t get added to the pass until I’m ready? (Wanted to do all this in advance as I’m going sommewhere with dicey Internet connections) Thanks as ever for the guidance
Hi All, Have been learning a bit about travelling with a bike in a train in Germany. (Might help some others. And also others might have better solutions)I found this quite challenging: 1) Tried the Eurail app - this does not seem possible. 2) Tried the db Bahn app - but this seemed difficult to do without also purchasing a normal ticket as well.3) Tried ringing the db bahn.. And discovered a lot of the fast train (ICE) legs were already booked. 4) Decided to then use db bahn to filter a trip without fast trains.. which then allow bikes without reservations. It made the trip longer.. But possible! (I don't think there is a way in the Eurail app to filter out the fast trains.. So had to cross reference from the db bahn app) Now an travelling on the train.. But got in trouble because I was travelling before 9am on a regional train.. Around 60 Euro fine.. But thankfully my Australian accent + tourist ignorance saved the day!) The train lady then explained you also need a bicycle pass for
Hello I am new to this and have made two errors and cannot for the life of me work out how to fix. I have put my journeys on my pass for each day, but when I reserved the ACTUAL seats in first class on one leg I have put in the wrong date. When I try to change it is says it is non changable and non refundable. Do I just leave these and lose the money and rebook seats on the correct day and pay again or is there a way to change. My husband, daughter and I all got 7 day in 1 month passes and I have started a booking for all three of us and we are all on the same trains for the first 4 - then our daughter goes off on her own with friends and is on different trains and destinations to us, but I mucked up and started the booking with all of us together and now need to seperate it so I can book the last three journeys seperately - but can’t work out if I can do this or if I have to start again. I have paid for seats on each of the four journeys I have booked so far in the one booking.Hope t
Hey! I don't know if this is the best way to do it or if it will lead to anything:Me and my trippartner met two french Interrailgirls in the metro in Budapest and wanted to exchange numbers to stay in touch. However the picture token of the number turned out to be totally blurry. How do I find them now? Mostly because we are leaving Budapest first thing in the morning tomorrow.Have a nice evening...I hope this question was at least entertaining
Heidelboro again and once again, thanks in advance for your patience and generosity. So I’ve got my itinery for the first two (of 5) travel days sorted. Do I have to create a new QR code/ticket for the separate days or will the app notice the day I’ve booked the journeys are two different ones and just ask me if I want to use a new travel day?I’m sure all this is blatantly obvious once you get going, but until then...🤔Thanks, team.
Through Happyrail.com I just can buy first class seats in the needed train. Is it possible to buy a first class seat with my second class pass (The site let me do it). Thanks!

Hello all - I’ve tried to find the answer to the following in the community posts but with no luck! If the question has already been answered, then apologies and please feel free to direct me to the post!I live in the uk and have a global pass - 15 days in 2 months. after i have returned to my home country (using both my in country travel days), i will be flying back out to europe within the 2 month valid period. I will have 4 travel days left, can I use these remaining travel days to take a train from Gothenburg to Copenhagen? I’m wondering if the pass is “complete” and ends once I’ve used my 2nd inbound journey? Thanks in advance, Tom.
HI! When I’m trying to book from Wien to Paris I found a good tickets through Frankfurt but once I arrive to the payment page it appears this message.Any suggestions?
Merci d'avance
Hi!How it works when we want to travel with a train that booking is not necessary? How we get those tickets, or we just have to show our interail pass to the train controller?Because I was checking that there are some that tell you a message such as:This is a popular train. Seat reservations are recommended, but not required. So, I was wondering how it works because we are travelling in four from Vien to Frankfurt. Thanks in advance.mariana
