Reservations cancellation/exchange due to UK strike

Hi - after people thoughts...We need to change TGV and Eurostar reservations from 7 Jan to 8 Jan due to issues with onward travel in the UK on 7 Jan (strike). I contacted customer support as I’d really like to not loose the fees paid already (and having to pay them again with new reservations). A bit warry of the response time - high volume and now holidays too - and some enquiries will be more urgent with folks traveling now. Wondering about going ahead cancelling and rebooking now while there is still availability, and try to deal with fees seperatly ? Or do we have to totally forget about the fees anyway? If we stay in London on the 7th (not ideal as wasn’t planning to pay hotel), we can’t use the pass on 8th for our onward travel (and final destination, where we need to go) as it will more than 2 out/inbound days). The whole trip has been a waste of a pass from start to finish because of the strikes and engineering work 😣 (I have to pay and go to London by bus, 8+hours, instead of

Brussels - Vienna Nightjet prices

Hi everyone, I have some quick questions concerning the OBB Nightjet linking Brussels to Vienna.I’m a scout groupe leader and we’re going on a camp next summer (July 2023). We were planning on taking an Interrail pass for the whole groupe because we want to travel all by train. (let me know if any of you already took that train)Our first train would be the Brussels to Vienna nightjet and I can’t find some usefulll information. First of all, how much does this journey coust with an interrail pass ? I found some people saying it costs only about 30€ and some saying they could’nt get any discount with their pass. Secondly, I d’ont understand the concept of “private compartment”. It seems like its cheaper to take two private compartments of 3 people than taking a 6bed compartment which seems odd. Global Pass - Start day within 11 months ? + stop inbetween?

Hey, i purchased as many of us a ticket during the promo offer: a 2 months global pass with mobile pass.Now i have two questions, i found similar threads but I want to be really sure I get things right and dont mess anything up so my pass is not valid. I found similar threads but sometimes I didnt know if I got the answer right.. My pass is valid until 10th of April (activation period), so if I understand right, it doesnt mean I have to start my travel until 10th? I just have to activate it before, means i have to decide for a travel date, so i could also start for example End of April (unless i activated and chose the travel date before 10th April)? Its very important to know for me so I dont get things wrong, because I would ideally start a bit later in April if its possible. If i e.g. start my travel at 25th April and then i travel for 3 weeks. And then i come back to germany and end my first trip. Am I allowed to use the pass nevertheless later if I start not in my home country? As

End of line in Germany - kicked off at Koln Hbf

Hello, Our journey in the app and on our pass was from Amsterdam Centraal to Mainz Hbf. Our first train showed it taking us to Frankfurt where we'd have to transfer for the last leg of our journey. However, we got to Koln Hbf and were told it was the end of the line. There was a group behind us that were also under the impression that we could stay on. They asked the worker and he said we have to get off, we have to listen to the announcements, and yelled at all of us for missing the 3 announcements telling us to get off. He said to go to platform 10. We rushed over there but there was no departing train that matched anything in our app. We looked for trains heading to Frankfurt or Mainz and there was only one and it was not on platform 10. It had already departed by the time we found it. We looked at 3 different information boards and a separate app for train travel and we could not find the original information we had in the rail planner. Uncertainty about travelling days for global pass

Dear experienced travellers, I am planning a trip to Italy this summer with my family by train, but have some uncertainties about the travelling days/planning. Hopefully anyone in this community can help me with some advice. Our plan is to travel from our homecity 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands to Rome for a week or so, than to a small city underneath Napels (to visit Napels, the Vesuvius and Pompei) for a few days and then return home. However I am wondering if there is any barrier to enter the platform? And if yes, I don't think there is any QR code scanner on the barrier (i might be wrong). Is Eurail Pass no longer valid on some Polish trains

Specifically I’m looking at the Katowice to Vienna (Wien) international route. This is one of the routes that is subject to “Oferta Super Promo International” - there are PDFs available that show this pricing applies to most, if not all international rail routes into Poland. It seems this was started in early 2022.Normally on the PKP/Intercity booking site https://www.intercity.pl/en/ , when booking a domestic train you can select a Eurail “reservation only” from the Discount/reservation type dropdown list on the selected train. No problems, it works as far as I’m aware.If I select almost any train a few days ahead from Katowice to Wien Hbf on the PKP/Intercity website, there is no option to select Eurail, I just get the message that it’s a special offer with a tick-box that cannot be deselected. I need to reserve two months ahead and cannot see any way around this.Polrail say they can reserve a seat, but their pricing to buy a full ticket on this route bears no relation to the PKP pub

Change travel day

We have global flexi passes. 4 days in 1 month. We will use 2 days to get to our destination and 1 day to get home. These are planned and saved in My Trip and added to My Pass (mobile) but not activated. We would like to use the remaining day for a trip out from our destination. We know the route of the journey but have not chosen the day. FAQ says Can I switch or cancel a travel day?You can cancel your travel day any time before the start of that day (00:00 CET). Go to My Pass, choose the travel day you want to cancel and tap ‘Cancel travel day’.But does not say how to change the travel day.
