Get ready to travel

We have what looks like 52 minutes to transfer trains in Bruxelles-MIDI from a THALYS train to a EUROSTAR train. There was a note that said check in closes 30 minutes before departure and to allow 45-60 minutes for passport control. The ticket looks like the below 14:08 - BRUXELLES-MIDI (Belgium) Thalys0h 35m (Eurostar -check in closes 30m before departure; allow 45-60m for passport control)14:52 -BRUXELLES-MIDI (Belgium) EurostarI think the 35 minutes in between is saying that is how long it takes to get from one train to the other...not sure, because it doesnt mention anything but the note next to it. Im worried that we will miss the connection and this is the train to Gatwick Airport to our flight out. We dont want to have any issues.Is anyone familiar with this process and able to guide me in terms of how this works? Wh

I want to purchase and use a mobile Eurail Global Pass tomorrow, flex days (4). I am unable to find the answer as to buying and using the first flex day on the same day as purchase. Can anyone help?I don't want to purchase tomorrow if I can't use it. Is there a waiting period, one day before use, for example?Thanks. 

Hello all, I am very grateful for the advice. I need to travel tomorrow at short notice! Is it possible to buy a physical paper pass anywhere in Paris. A couple years ago I went to an SNCF ticket office and they said they no longer did them, however their explanation was because I had a British passport, which seemed far-fetched.I’d love a paper pass, especially as I prefer them (despite the advantages of mobile). I have a normal full-fare ticket to Paris, however I would need Interrail from there. Is there anywhere I can purchase one!Many thanks!

Dear All,I think that I am going to go for this pass as I am planning to go to 3 Rugby World Cup matches this autumn.As I can only use two journeys [days of travel] out of 7 from the UK to France and back am I obliged to use these on my first and last journey, that is journey 1 and journey 7 or can I use them for a return journey which might be journey 1 & 2 or journey 3 & 4 or journey 5 & 6?Many thanks, John

Hi, I live in Germany with a permanent residency but I am a non-EU citizen (of course with a valid non-EU passport). Can I choose to travel with Eurail pass instead of Interrail pass? I would really prefer to travel with Eurail pass as Germany’s central location and interrail pass’ inbound/outbound rule renders the interrail pass kinda useless if I want to say travel a few days to France and some days on the other side of Germany, to say Austria (unless I take some complicated route that doesn’t include journey’s in Germany). The language on eurail website creates a bit of a grey area (as it’s mentioned there that non-EU citizens who reside in the EU can ‘choose’ to buy an interrail pass). If I buy an eurail pass by providing the details of my non-EU passport, would it be fine or would I get into trouble? Has anybody been fined for such cases?  To be really honest, this inbound/outbound rule is very very inconvenient and frustrating, especially for people

Hi, my family and I are travelling around Europe in September and October, we have purchased global pass. I was wondering when it says print at home pass, do you actually need to. We are travelling from Australia and won't have access to printer(can't bring 1 either). We have a couple of set dates in France, Germany and Austria done but we are being flexible in Italy and just looking at doing day trips from Florence but some trains are reservation. Is the email enough?Thank you

We tried to buy 2nd class seat reservations from Ourense to Madrid.Instead the clerk at the station sold us 1st class and said that 2nd class was sold out.We said we only had a 2nd class pass but they just ignored us and said everything will be fine.Is that right?

I will be travelling from Krakow to Prague on 30 Aug by IC407 overnight. I’ve bought my ticket and reservation already.. but the disembarking station is “closed”.. so does that mean I can’t get off at that station? The train company did not provide other alternative transportation… what should I do?  The same is happening for my night train from Prague to Budapest, where the 2nd and 3rd station is “closed” but the train company did not provide other alternative transportation… what should I do?

Hi we will be on a day trip from Salzburg to Hallstatt, but if using Eurail, the journey takes about 4.5 hours one way, it take 1 hour 20 mins transfer. I know that the most convenient way to travel to Hallstatt is by bus but since we bought the Eurail we plan to use it. May I ask is there any other way / train station which we can travel to with shorter travel time ? Thanks

The reason I ask is that I’m trying to make some reservations from Paris to Rome on that day. Ideally changing trains in Turin or Milan.We can get a reservation that morning as far as Turin or Milan, but train services past that seem to be nigh on unbookable.No reservations available south of these cities, and very few paid tickets of any form - nothing high speed at all.The message against the services listed is:“Prices unavailableNo price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.”It seems to be the situation for the Saturday (11/11) and Sunday (12/11) where this is in full effect too.Tried the OBB site and they don’t have anything at all - message against all services is “Ticket Not Available”

Hey, I have another question regarding inbound/outbound. On one day during my trip I wanna go from Vaduz to Hallstatt. On the way there I am crossing Germany (my home country) without leaving the train. Does that already count as inbound/outbound or just when I am going to Germany and staying there for at least one night?Thank you!!

When planning a trip on the Eurail website, it adds an extra travel day.  I clicked London as a destination and then Paris as I want to travel from London to Paris.  It says that is two travel days.  

Journey from Firenze S.M.N. to Rome Airport Fuumicino on Eurail reservation site showed two journey options:Firenze S.M.N. to Roma Termini with 16 minutes to catch another train to Rome airport. However, the site shows ‘Some conditions apply’ that second class Eurail Pass holders need to buy a separate ticket to board the Rome Termini to Rome Airport train. The resevation fee  for the train from Firenze S.M.N. to Roma Termini is 15 euros. Firenze S.M.N.to Roma Tiburtina with 17 minutes to catch another train to Rome Airport. The train from Roma Tiburtina to Rome Airport showed ‘You’re ready to board’. The reservation fee for the train from Firenze S.M.N.to Roma Tiburtina is 15 euros.So I understand -Firenze S.M.N. to Rome Airport Fuumicino via Roma Termini will cost 15 euros plus the price of ticket from Rome Termini to Rome Airport, whatever that is. Dear all,I am having a Global Interrail pass for 5 days of travelling in one month.I reserved a seat for the ÖBB Nightjet from Zagreb to Stuttgart in the ÖBB app by choosing 'single tickets/day tickets' and selecting 'Interrail/Eurail - Globalpass' discount. On the received ÖBB ticket, the following is stated: 'Fahrschein + Reservierung'. So does this mean that this ÖBB ticket is all I need to board or do I need to use one of my travel days in the Interrail app as well?And what about a trip during the day in Slovenia (from Postojna to Ljubljana)? I can buy a single ticket and use the interrail discount in the ÖBB app for this as well. Will this save me a travel day in the Interrail app?Thank you in advance.Kind regards,Frank
