Get ready to travel

Is it possible to get from thun to Zermatt via train?  I am planning a europe trip for next year and when I put this into the trip planner, only 1 train is available per day, and none are available for the return trip. Planning around the end of october next year. 

We had to scan our ticket at a barrier to board a train from St Lazare to Rouen.  The QR code was not accepted,  a message 'Titre non valide' with a big red cross appeared.  The assistant couldn't help but eventually another colleague let us through as the train was about to leave. Are we likely to have the same problem on our return trip to Paris?  Everything looked ok with our ticket,   train number, date, time etc.It's the first time we've had to go through a barrier,   scanning during ticket inspection on other routes has been fine 

HiIm travelling to Tirano on Bernina Express on the 19th of october.I see there is no trains availible from Tirano to Milan on that day.Will there be replacement busses and where can i get the time tables ect.There is no information on Trenitalia on this.kind regards, 

We travel to europe in december and plan to take our first train on December 15.  We want to reserve our seats as early as possible to ensure we can get the seats we want we note we still cant see trains after this date yet on eurail but note some dates starting to appear directly on the train providers websites but with warnings of changes. is it worth waitinf until they appear on thr eurail sites? 

Hello wise friends!Last Dec/Jan was our first experience with the Eurrail pass and could not have been more pleased with it.  Our route was Berlin | Hamburg | Amsterdam | Nuremburg | Vienna | Salzburg | Munich.  Also did some day trips on the side.  We reserved seats on some, but not all the trains.  It all went like clockwork.This year we are coming at the end of October and going to Porto | Lisbon | Southern Spain (Seville and other cities we haven’t exactly decided on yet) | Madrid | Barcelona.I’m just wondering whether the Eurrail pass would give us the same value, or whether we are better off using the Portuguese and Spanish train systems.  A few things I have read have indicated that that could be the case, especially as we are in off-season, so may not strike the problem of booked ou:)t trains.  We are not great with planning ahead, so will not be booking individual trains in advance!  And I don’t think we can go fully by train from Lisbon to Seville?  Or ne

Hi, I’m planning a Christmas markets trip (primarily in Germany) with stops in Essen, Aachen, Koln, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Esslingen, Konstanz and Strasbourg.  My question is whether it’s possible and optimal to take the train from Freiburg to Offenburg then changing trains to a TER going from Offenburg to Strasbourg.  Would I travel from Freiburg to Kehl using the Eurail Pass and then purchase a separate ticket through SNCF from Kehl to Strasbourg for about 5 euro to cover the border crossing?  I assume that I’m effectively having two tickets for the same physical train trip from Offenburg to Strasbourg.  I haven’t been able to find the option to purchase train tickets not covered by the pass in the Rail Planner app.  The only purchases through that I can make appear to be seat reservations and loading the pass.  Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi all, I’ve listed my journey from London to Paris on ‘my Trip’.However I booked the seat reservation via RailEurope and not via Eurail app.  I have received my Eurostar email, completed the API and printed my tickets so they know I am booked on and all is good on that front.  Are there implications for when I go to board..?  When I trigger the Pass next Sunday will it all make sense….?  I just don’t understand how the ticket QR codes will appear on the app…...do I have to do something manually.  All my train times and routes are listed in ‘My Trip’.Thanks P 

May I get seat reservations on journeys that do not require them? For example, I have gotten tickets with my Eurail pass for Malmo to Oslo for 9-10-25, 10:12 to 17:44.  And if I can do seat reservations, will the Eurail discount apply?  Same question for Nice to Genoa?

I want to book Eurostar for March 2026. The train times are on the Eurostar website but the app is telling me that they do not have details of the timetable yet because it is too early and I need to wait. 

We’ll start using our 3-month global passes soon and I’ve set up a Trip with journeys - how do I share this with my partner’s phone? The dropdown only lists Edit / Duplicate / ShowInWidget. And where does this widget appear after creation? Nothing shows up on the home screen. 

Hello all.  My family and I are traveling to Germany, Switzerland and France this December.. We purchased a Eurail pass that is good for 7 days during the time we will be there.  I am within 90 days of my travel but Eurail website is showing “No Trains Available” when I try to book seat reservations.  I know there are train schedules out and even have the trains I want to take and want to make a seat reservation.   Do I have any options for making seat reservations others than waiting out Eurail to update their trains schedules?   Anything I am doing wrong?   Thanks, in advance, for any help and advice you could give.

My favorite adventure was when I traveled through part of Western Europe with my Interrail pass. I left Hungary with a friend and on the first day in Austria we visited the city of Vienna. That evening we continued by train to Prague, Czech Republic. It was very exciting because the train was late and we almost missed our booked accommodation, but everything turned out great. We spent two beautiful days in Prague and then continued our journey to Berlin by train, which seemed like a very quick travel. Berlin was fascinating, but we could only stay for one night because our journey continued to Amsterdam. One of the most incredible experiences I had was “discovering” Amsterdam. I had the most unforgettable europe trip at the start of this year. I utilised the eurail pass which made travelling just that bit more special. The trains are something else and the efficacy makes it great! There is something special about being able to hop on a train in another country and being able to turn up to another one in 3 hours or more. I also got engaged in prague, and a little sotry about this is my partner organised everything without my knowledge and without this train pass the engagement would never of occurred! I travelled alone as a newly born senior, and went through Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania and on from there to Greece. I was delighted to find interrailing more similar to cherished memories of interrailing as a teen than what could have been expected, though a little less risky. We had heatwaves, engine breakdowns, and long layovers in unusual locations, and I had great conversations all along. It turns out travelling solo as a 60 year old lady is great. So much tension is taken out of social situations, and I found young people, in particular, to be interested as well as interesting in long conversations. I embraced the occasional discomfort and - apologies for the cheesiness - found my own self en route by way of it. By that, I mean my ‘shape’ in the world, relocated by rubbing up against the world. When I look on other sites there are many ways to travel to my destinations that are in Germany and Austria. Do I just have to use the routes suggested by the travel planner?  If I opt for other routes can I use my Interrail pass on any train line in Holland, Belgium, Germany or Austria. What are the pitfalls of not going with the suggestions by the planner

I’m based in Bergen (Norway) and planning a trip towards central Europe with a global pass. My current plan is:day1: take the train from Bergen to Oslo on my pass and then take a night bus (not on pass) to Hamburg. travel in Europe with my passday 5: arrive in Oslo after taking another night bus and take the train from Oslo to Bergen.  Would these train trips count as inbound/outbound trips? I'm a bit unsure, as I won't be crossing a border by train
