Travel on time - first time travel

Dear Community,i would love to travel more by train. I would like to travel by train to France for a Qi Gong retreat. I found a connections from Hamburg to Mannheim to Lyon. I will only reach Lyon by 8pm and I am a bit worried with the usual delay / cancellation situation from DB if I will really reach 😅 I couldn’t find a good earlier connection. Or even a night connection. I could start 17.07.24 10pm And I have to reach francheville (near Lyon ) 18.07.24 in the evening. please let me know if you have any recommendations / Insights 🙏 thank you for your help.Maximiliane

Linking seat reservations with mobile app

I have already purchased my EU rail pass and also reserved seats for the routes I will be travelling on through the EU rail website. I have downloaded the Rail planner app and added my travel pass on that. Is there a way I can link my e-tickets for the seat reservations with my pass? If not, what is the use of the app if I have to download and print out e-tickets to show to the ticket inspector?

Hey everybody, when traveling from Aachen (just a stones throw away from the border to Belgium) to Brussels and not using the outbound option, can I enter the train in Aachen or do I need to cross the border and join the train in Welkenraedt or Liege?Is there any train to Brussels that stops in Aachen Sued Grenze?grateful for any information

Multiple trips from Brussels to Germany and back

I'm going to the EURO’s next summer. I travel from Brussels to German host cities. These are my travel movements: Brussels - Hamburg, Hamburg - Brussels, Brussels - Leipzig, Leipzig - Brussels, Brussels - Munich, Munich - Brussels. Can I use the German Rail Pass with these travel movements? Or do I need another Pass?

I have 2 seat reservations on Malmö C - Sthlm CentralSJ, Snabbtåg, X 2000, at 12.07.is this train still running ? I could go on the earlier train at 11.07but I can’t get prices on DB website atm for any trains Malmo Stockholm on the 8/05/24.

Missing a train connection - What if

Hi!What are the rules on missing a train connection if I haven’t reserved part of the journey?This is the route I am planning to take:Budapest (07h55) → Munich (14h32): Seat Reservations recommended14min transferMunich (14h46) → Mannheim (17h28): Seat Reservations optional10min transferMannheim (17h38) → Paris Est (20h43): Seat reservations requiredWhat happens if I miss a connection along the way or if I am denied boarding in Budapest because I did not take the recommended seat reservation? Am I allowed to continue to travel? And will I lose my seat reservation for the Paris train? Thanks in advance!

Help - Struggling for Seat Reservations - 29/04 - for a trip in July .

Hey everyone, Hopes everyone is doing well.Me and my friends are looking to book our seat reservations for our trip in July. But, what a surprise, when after the second destinations we saw that we can’t book any Trains for the rest of our trip.Reason : “Tarifs unavailableThe search for fares did not yield any results. The places reserved for Pass holders are probably exhausted. You will find other options at the bottom of our schedules.”We tried to book last week and it told us that we had to wait 90 days to get the seats available and now, 7 days later, it’s impossible to book them. Kind of strange when we try to book 2 ½ months before the trip. Like Interrail said multiple times on their website, 2 months before the trip is ok to have all of your seats. Do you guys have the same problem ? Any helps appreciated. Thanks travellers!Regards. Greg

Booking reservations on railway websites

Hi,I am planning a trip for the summer of 2024 and am looking to reserve my trains. When I go to reserve through the website it says “prices unavailable”. I followed the websites instructions and booked my reservations through the ck.cz website as advised. With these reservations, will I be okay to just show up on the day with my reservation from their website and with my inter rail pass? I do not want to get fined!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Missed train = lost travel day / Adding a travel day at the very last minute

Hi Interrailers,There’s a small but non-negligible chance i’ll miss my Zagreb-Split night train.If i understand rightly:if you list a journey on your mobile pass, then from 00:01 that day, that’s one travel day used up, whether or not you actually make it onto the train. Miss the train, lose a travel day, for nothing.So i got to thinking…What if i don’t add that journey AT ALL until the very last moment, when i’m sure of catching the train – or even when i’m actually ON it (internet connection allowing).I already have the couchettes booked; but what if i wait until the last second before actually adding the train to the travel diary? That way i shouldn’t lose a travel day unnecessarily.Or am i missing something important?Thanks in advance for your avuncular advice,Badger

When is my seat reserved?

I’ve bought a pass at this point and understand generally how to use it and the concept of reservations. However, what I’d like to know is when, when I don’t have a reservation, is my seat confirmed/reserved? When I’m on the train? Do I then not make it on if reservations fill up or others with the EURAIL pass beat me to boarding?

Do routes appearing on book-reservations but not in planner exist?

So, I was looking to travel Genova to Ventimiglia and used the rail planner app. All trains shown required reservation. I followed link to https://www.eurail.com/en/book-reservations with intention of making a reservation for this route and several trains NOT requiring reservation also appeared e.g. RE 3360 Regional operated byFerrovie dello Stato SpADirectionVENTIMIGLIAWhy do these not appear in planner when "eurail" obviously does know about them. Do they "really" exist?

Supplement from Antwerpen to Breda

I am trying to figure out the meaning of the notes in Rail Plan.When I try to search a trip from Antwerp (in Belgium) to Breda (in The Netherlands). It showed the note ‘Supplement included for international travel...’. When I clicked on ‘Read more’, it showed ‘Special Conditions ...’ as on the screen shots below.Does anyone knows what are those notes mean? Is the trip considered as ‘international travel’(from Belgium to Netherlands)? If I take the trip, do I have to pay for the supplement? Any help will be much appreciated!Thank you very much in advance!By the way, I will be using Eurail Globe Pass when I travel there.

global pass days utilization

Hi, I have 3 days left to my global pass.Tomorrow April 30th, I will be traveling Venice - Rome, May 1st Rome - Milan (on the way I will stop at Florence, Verona),May 2nd Milan - Zurich (via Tirano, Chur Bernia Express)May 4th Zurich - Paris (I already reserved the seats) so in theory I have 4 days of travel left with 3 days of the pass. All Italy rides needs a seat reservation per Eurail.. So would it be better just to get the Venice - Rome separately without using the global pass? Or what other option would you suggest?

Parsi to Frankfurt DB Reservation Changes

I have booked from Paris to Frankfurt on the Ice 10.52am from Paris Est on May 30th. We now have the opportunity to meet some French friends so want to push the time back. I went in to my DB portal to change the time to 13.51pm on TVG and got the message below. Is there ever a problem getting on the train with updated reservation/ticket? How to drive alone in a three-seater sleeper cabin?Let’s say a train from Warsaw to Munich (I don’t know why it’s so cheap, from Padova to Vienna it’s 500 km but it costs the same) and this train leaves at 7 pm from Warsaw and at 10 am to Munich, if you buy a ticket for yourself with an interrail ticket and Also, for example, tickets for travel to 1 station, is it possible that people will not be able to reserve an entire route and no one will join me?But for some reason the ticket is not available for booking even for one station

This was my original plan: Peterborough - London - Cologne (14th)10:11 - 11:00/13:01 - 18:15 Colgne - Hamburg (15th)12:11 - 15:37 Hamburg - Copenhagen (16th)14:53 - 19:34 Copenhagen - Gothenburg (18th)15:30 - 19:20 Gothenburg - Oslo (20th)14:15 - 18:02 Oslo - Stockholm (22nd)11:58 - 19:26 Stockholm - Frederica (23rd May)12:21 - 16:52 / 17:20 - 17:43 / 18:26 - 20:38 Frederica - Koeln (24th May)10:50 - 11:02 / 11:18 - 14:06 / 14:44 - 18:49 Koeln - Brussels - London - Home (25th May)11:42 - 13:35 / 14:52 - 15:57 / 17:03 - 17:50 I had planned to travel from 13th May returning back on the 26th May, but the Eurostar dates aren’t available, so it’s now 14th May and returning back on 25th May. I did want to go to Helsinki, but I just don’t have enough time I have a 15 day continuous ticket - so am open to suggestions! Nothing like leaving it to the last minute! 😖 Thank you!

Hi, We are a family of 3 wanting to travel on LNER Leeds to London in August, but seat reservations on LNER website and ACP Rail are all showing as ‘not available’. Am I too late? (or too early?!) Do I NEED a reservation on LNER trains or can we just get on with our pass? Thanks :-)

Good afternoon Canada time my wife and i have a 1st class global pass I have some questions regarding seat reservationswe are travelling to Florence from Rome Termini in September ., then onward to Agropoli, Parghelia and back to Rome.If I check Rail Europe for seat reservations, I am given a price of $66.00CAD. If I book one way tickets to Florence from Rome, i have a price of $!30.00CAD total plus $2.95 per person for seat selection.if I try to book seat reservations with Italia Rail the cost is 13,00euros per person. But it will not accept my old school pass number. I need help thank you
