Travelling alone. Is it safe?

Hey! Is it considered to be safe to travel alone on interrail? Is there something that i need to know about in this case? Like i am wondering if something happens and I miss a train so that I am stuck at a train station at the middle of the night, would that be dangerous?

Travelling with ADHD and Autism

Hi Everyone, My name is Maddy and I am 24 years old. I have been looking to travel for a few years now but with a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism I worry about sensory and information overload. I have travelled with friends before and have been fine but that has been a more static holiday, so no travelling abroad other than on foot or to and from the airport. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips on how to make the experience as smooth as possible? Has anyone got any dos or don’ts for planning? Thank you in advance for your assistance! ☺️

trains in march

hi guys,i want to travel in eastern europe in march and want to start in germany and go to greece and romania. So I alreaday saw a train from germany to croatia which i will need for an extra stop before going to greece (thessaloniki). But although it is indicated on the europe railway map I can’t find a train from croatia (zagreb) to greece (thessaloniki). I have the same problem if i want to go from thessaloniki to romania (bucarest). do I need an extra stop in between those destinations or are the timetables still not out yet? I am thankful for any help.

I want to go from Dresden to Narvik. I want to depart at 7.55 pm and arrive 12.35 pm (2 days plus). The journey takes 40 hours in total. Does that count as two days of traveling?

Ferry from Palermo to Salerno, Italy

We are travelling to Europe from Australia in April 2024. We would prefer to get from Patras to Brindisi by ferry and continue down to Sicily and leave from Palermo to Naples. Has anybody done this route? many thanks, ReneeL

hesitant to buy a pass

I am from Australia and I am travelling through Europe for 6 weeks starting early June. I will travel by train. PAR - ZUR - APPENZEL - LUCERNE - INNSBRUK . FUSSEN - MUNICH. And later MUN - BUDAPEST. I have done a lot of searching on this community page but I don’t understand how I book my rail tickets and pay with the pass at all. Sorry, in my defense I’m 62 !

Venice to Nice Train

Hi,I’ve been planning a route which includes a train from Venice to Nice however, I’m not sure if it’s possible. I haven’t been able to find great options so far and have figured I’d have to get a train from Venice to Milan first but haven’t been able to figure anything out past that point. I would have a interrail global pass and would be travelling in June, any help would be much appreciated and any additional info needed please let me know.Thank you :)

Hi, I’m planning a trip, I have some doubt about inbound/outbound trips and how handle at the best the trip days.Question 1. : I want to go from Rome to Munich within a night trip, but I need to change a train in residence country before midnight, it is still considered a outbound trip / one day pass? Question 2: inbound trip, from Wien to Rome, night trip from Wien to a city, can I stop 6hrs and then take another train to Rome?eThanks for your answers

My husband I will be in Spain for 2 weeks. We would want to stay in Madrid, take a high speed train to Barcelona, but also take day trips out of both cities. Is there an advantage to purchasing passes in advance or would it work to buy as we go??

Railplanner Apps (to use with Interrail/Eurail)

Hi :) For everyone comes the time to plan a Railjourney Eurail offer their own App the “Railplanner” but i have to admit that i use the App just for recording the Journey´s of my “Mobile Pass” (DigitalPass). As the App of Eurail gets no live updates like the local websites / apps.I and several other Community members suggest different Apps :) Often bahn.com (Website of German Rail) with their app “DB Navigator” or oebb.at (Website of Austrian Railway) with their App called “Scotty”.My advice is to use always when possible the Website of Railcompany / Country or their App where you are / that you gonna catch :) the Websites & Apps above are good for International Railplaning as these cover quite a lot European Routes. Some of them show even the Railcompany that operates the train so that you can check if these are covered y the pass or not.There are other Apps like Muj Vlak of Ceske Drahy (this App works even offline when you download within the app the different timetable backages

Traveling with elderly parents that use mobility scooters

Hello everyone, my wife and I, along with my elderly parents will be traveling to Europe in late March - Early April arriving via a Cruise Ship. We plan on staying in Barcelona for 2 days and then taking the train up to Paris and staying there for 4 days. My question is can you take mobility scooters on the train from Barcelona to Paris? Also is it feasible to use the local metro to get around with the scooters as well? My parents are 91 and 87 respectively and walking any distance can be difficult for them. Thanks Jerry

Rail strikes uk

Is anyone else going to be affected by next week's rails strikes in the UK?We're travelling home after our time away on Wednesday 4th January, we booked Eurostar tickets etc in October when strikes were limited and the confirmed date was January 2 & 5th ..…We live in West Wales and the train strikes are now from January 2nd to the 7th ! I'm absolutely beside myself, getting home is going to now cost us an absolute fortune, by national express or taxi from london !

We did not receive the tickets ordered by post.

Important!We created and paid for an order for seats that was supposed to be sent to the hotel (Hotel Wivel Narvik - Norway), but the post office in Narvik told us that the shipment would not arrive until 29.12.2022. And our tickets are for 27.12.2022 and 28.12.2022. We absolutely need to know the reserved seats in the trains in order to continue our journey. The other trains are hopelessly sold out. We have hotels and other trains paid for.What should we do?

Interail Italy - what does it cover

Hi we are travelling from Milan airport to Milan central. Moving on to Florence, then Rome, then ,Venice and back to Milan central to make our way to the airport again. Staying in each place for 2 nights. Total of 9 nights but 8 days travelling. Does the interail pass cover all of these destinations and would it be suitable. Don't want to get caught with extra charges etc. Any information really appreciated. Ty
