Are hostels a good option for traveling with my family (my husband and three kids)?I’ve been searching on Airbnb and Booking, and I just came across the hostel option. I’m not sure if hostels are suitable for families—what do you think?

I have booked the train from florence to venice on 16/05/2026, day return , departure with Fr9400 and return with Fr9437, will I get affect? Should I book the backup train on 14 /05 or 17/05 to have safe trip? Also I have purchased reservations seat for 16 May 2026  can I get refund, many thanks.

Hello, I have a very imortant question. Me and my friend want to take trains from madrit to poland thru france, italy and few more. On most of the trains it says to reserve seats. Do i really have to do that? Its not very expensive but can add up quickly. Please let me know.

When I get to the part of paying for reserved seats from Basel to Lauterbrunnen or Bern to Geneva it says it can not.  It says “Sorry, something went wrongWe could not save your details. Please try again or contact Customer Service if this issue continues.”.  I do not know where to go for help.  Is there a person I can talk to?Thank you,Cari

Can I use the 4 day Interrail Greek Island pass on Seajets ferries? 

Hello everyone.  I’m a first time traveler to Europe and will be taking my family this summer.  We will be traveling by train between some of our destinations and I’m trying to figure out if getting an Eurail pass is 100% necessary.  I looked on the Eurail site and the 4-day travel pass ranges from $928 (2nd class) to $1178 (1st class) for a family of 4.   We will need to take a train between the following cities:Rome → Venice (round trip over 2 separate days)Zurich or Bern → Paris (1 day)Paris → London (1 day)My questions:Is it worth the amount of money for the pass for the month we will be in Europe? If I do not get the Eurail pass, will my overall spend be less?  What I mean by this is will the difference in purchasing the tickets without the Eurail pass be more cost effective? Are there any monetary advantages of buying a Eurail pass or is it more for convenience/flexibility?  Thank you very much! 

Hi All, I are using a Eurail global pass for the 1st time, but keen to understand when the train leg says “No reservations needed”, does this mean you just put your trip in your planner and activate it on the day required and this will generate a ticket. Or does it mean you just rock up an hope for the best the train isn’t full?Any help would be appreciated 

Am I mad or did there used to be a planning map where you could plan the various stages of your journey before booking specific tickets. I’m sure it used to come up as you opened the planning guide. Where has it gone?

I attempted to Book a train from Valence TGV Station to Pierr-des-Corps in France for a departure date of 5 October 2026. I was presented with multiple options. No matter which one I selected,  The message I received was I needed to be within 150 days / AS of today I am within 150 days. Anybody explain what the issue is? I have a one country pass but of course didn’t get far enough in the booking for this to be an issue.

I can’t find a way to book a seat reservation on this direct train (EC19 Zurich Milan) for 11 June 26 or any other dates that I’ve tried over the next three months. I’ve tried the Interrail site, RailEurope, obb, cd, …The Interrail App says: No price results were found. Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection, but there are other ways to check for available seats—more info below our timetable.I know I can get other non-direct trains but interested to know why this one doesn’t seem to be available.

Hello, is there any lounges which is available with 1st class eurail grobal pass in Roma Termini and Venezia St.Lucia？

This may be a really simple question, but just want to double check! I saw that with the interrail pass in France, it’s eligible for free bus travel. Does this work in the same way as the trains do e.g. it’s only free if you use it on a day of travel? Or is it free all the time?Thank you :)

I’ve seen many people share animated maps (where the animation shows the train travelling from the starting point to the destination, with the stopping points marked on the route). Can anyone recommend an app/site for creating this (preferably free, but I’m prepared to pay if there’s a really good user-friendly one). Good afternoon Eurrail hive mind. We have now booked our First Class Eurail passes (BEFORE the 15% sale, boo!) and we have the following itinerary in mind. The route doubles back a bit unfortunately but this is because my friend in Munich is only available on certain times. Our start and end point is Schiphol on 24 June and 16 July. I would appreciate answers to two questions:Which of these trips do I need to reserve? Where would be a good place to stop on the longer trips?Our itinerary is as follows:Thurs 25 June:  overnight sleeper AMS-ZUR (=4 x couchettes already reserved and paid for) Monday 29 June:  Zurich-Modena:  does this need a reservation? And which is the best route? Friday 03 July:  Modena-Munich:  does this need a reservation? Going from Prague to Berlin, and need to take 3 trains, booked tickets for the first and third trains, but the second one said no ticket, “open seating”. However, I looked today 13MAR for the train on 18MAR and they replaced the second train with a replacement bus. Do I need to book tickets for that replacement bus or what do I need to do?
