Travelling by train

Hi I need HELP! I’m last-minute (I had a rough itinerary before but reality is setting in...) planning my travel pass to travel from Lisbon (more specifically, I’m in Alcabideche right now) to Bruges, leaving tomorrow Nov 19th and arriving *ideally* late-night Nov 20th. I have 2 days left on my Eurail Global Pass that I want to use, but this route seems so complicated with its many options/side-routes, expensive seat reservations, and lack of night train (my preference/ideal) options with my timeline. It seems it may be better to bus into France, which I am willing to do if it is inexpensive, but ideally I’d use my remaining 2 travel days with minimal additional expenses on seat reservations and overnight accommodation. Has anyone done this route or a similar one (Portugal to Belgium) with success recently??? Should I just take the L and take a bus somewhere into France and then train to Bruges from there?! I will accept any and all suggestions, thank you!!

Hello fellow travelers, I’m having a bit of trouble setting my trip from Innsbruck(Austria) to Chur(Switzerland). It does show routes whenever I look into Rail europe or Omio, but I’m not sure about connection times, they all seem to be pretty short to me.Three to nine minutes so you know. I fear I won’t make it in between connections. Apparently I don’t have to make any seat reservations for this route. Has anyone ever made this trip and have any tips or advices on how to make this route? 

Is it possible to travel from - London (5 Nights) - to Paris (3 Nights) - Zurich (2 Nights) - Munich (4 Nights) - Rome (5 Nights) - Amsterdam (4 Nights) and back to London (3 Nights)?Which route should I follow to visit the above cities?Thanks

Hi all..next December will be my first time in Europe.i bought eurail pass , but i cant book the reservationit is said no trains found.usually how many days/weeks before the schedule come out?because i checked a couple earlier the schedule is available

Hi! I’m a solo traveller and on December 4th I will leave for my trip with Interrail. From Milan to Rovaniemi in 6 days. Interrail stops: Zurich, Hamburg, Copenaghen, Stockholm, Helsinki. During the trip I will visit the main points of interest in the cities of Hamburg, Copenhagen and Stockholm and taste local specialties. At my destination I will participate in a guided tour to hunt for the Northern Lights and visit Santa Claus' village during the day.

I’m traveling from Marseille to Barcelona via Narbonne, changing trains in Narboone.When entering these details in the Rail Planner do I need to include as 2journeys on the same day or just a one journey on that day?Will the pass ticket for that day be useable on both legs?

Hi! Is it hard to find luggage lockers at Geneva train station and Interlaken OST station? I am hearing that they get full and hard to find empty ones. We will be there the first week of August and will have 4 small carryon size pieces to store for the day. Also do they accept credit card or we need to have CHF exact change? Do they take euros?

Hi, I’m planning on going from Bulgaria, probably Sofia of Plovdiv to Croatia, now I have to go through other countries and I was thinking about Bosnia (Sarajevo)  but I can’t seem to find the train anywhere. what is the best way to make this trip with maybe 1 or 2 stops and hopefully all with the train. let me know if you have tips to get from Bulgaria to Croatia

Just wanted to let others know that it’s extremely hard to get anywhere by train in Turkey right now.  I had no problems getting the sleeper from Sofia to Istanbul the day of, and the train was half empty.But you can’t BUY a ticket, much less get a reservation, for over a week on any of the routes I’ve checked across the country unless you’re in a wheelchair.  Many of the routes say they have one seat open, but when you check it’s only for wheelchair users.Some of the routes like Ankara to Kar are booked up for almost two weeks.  So if you plan to come to Turkey, do your reservations as far our as possible. The website to check tickets is https://ebilet.tcddtasimacilik.gov.tr/

I am staying in Poggio Somavilla in Collevecchio and need to be at Rome Fiumicino airport at 10:00 on Thursday morning (19/09).  The first train from Collevecchio Poggio Somavilla station is at 07:52 arriving at the airport station at about 09:45.  As the trains are scheduled hourly if that train does not run for any reason the next train would be the 08:52 which arrives at the airport too late!  :(   Are the regional trains in Italy sufficiently reliable to make an airport connection?  (As it is the first train of the day there is no option to get an earlier train!) :(

Hello I am travelling from australia late december this year with my husband and 3 sons who are all teens.  We will stay in amsterdam and plan go visit paris and switzerland from 26 Dec to 2nd Jan then need to get back to amsterdam on 3rd Jan. I havd bought 10 days EUrail flexi global pass.  My son loves train i am thinking to ride on Glacier Express and travel on nightjet back to amsterdam.  Would someone please give me advice?  Should i ride Berina train as well? How to reserve night jet please?Many thanks. 

Hi,we plan to reach the Lofoten in October by Interrail (1st class). I saw there is a possibility to go from trondheim by day train to Bodo. From there with a ferry (Hurtigruten) to Lofoten. On our way back, we want to take the night train from Bodo to Trondheim.A few questions:1.) The nighttrain has only two bed compartiments. I think we will manage to “sleep” there with one adult and child on each of the small beds. So we need just one compartiment. Does anybody know if this will be okay with the railway company? Our children are 5 and 2 years old.2.) How about ferry connection in Bodo? Shall I pre book or would it be better to do it, when I know, if the train is maybe late? Are there other ferry companies Bodo / Lofoten?3.) How can I find out, how much the night train compartment will cost me with my interrail 1st class ticket? (3 tickets for us two adults and the 5 year old, no ticket for the 2 year old..).

Hi ! I’m planning a trip from France to Scotland with my bike. On the routes Dover-London and Edinburgh-Inverness, no seat reservations are required but i need to book one space for my bike. Is it possible to reserve a cycle space without reserving a seat? How? Thanks for your help. 

Based on the following, the "OBB" train is more expensive than the other two trains. May I know if there is any difference as the hours to reach the destination is the same . Thank you 

Is one able to use their eurail pass on the trams in lisbon , and if not are thrre a lot of trains?

Hi! I'm looking to go on an interrail trip with friends this September, and we'd like to visit Sarajevo.However, it seems like getting there is very hard. Our current plan is taking a (Flix)bus from Zagreb to Sarajevo, and staying there for 2 days. Afterwards we would take the train from Sarajevo to Čapljina, cross the border into Metković and probably have to take a (Flix)bus again to Split.We were wondering if the 2 days in Sarajevo are worth the effort to get there, and the prices of the busses.If somebody has some tricks how to get there easily, or advice this would greatly help us!

Hi my dear fellow Interrailers,I’m quite new to this fascinating Interrail business and haven’t yet taken a nighttrain with it. So here’s my question (I found similar questions, but none quite the same, or I looked in the wrong direction 😅):In october I want to go with the global pass from Hamburg to Innsbruck with the ÖBB night jet and then I want to go directly from Innsbruck to Bologna. How many travel days would that be? And is it a problem that the night train will leave Hamburg at about 8 pm in the evening and won’t cross the border before midnight?And then on my return I want to go from Florence to Innsbruck and from there with the ÖBB night jet back to Hamburg. Does that work? Somewhere I read that I can’t take a night train for an inbound journey, but that doesn’t seem to make any sense to me.Would be so glad if you could help me out 😊Nadia

Hello,  I’m looking for some advice. My family and I are interrailing for the first time this month. One part of our trip takes us from Levanto to Tirano (to link up with the Bernina Express) on August 23rd. The journey takes a surprisingly long time for the distance (over 8hrs) and one leg (between Colico and Tirano) is by bus. I just wondered if we were missing something, and if perhaps there is an easier and better way to go about this part of our trip, or anyone knew why we have to travel part of the way by bus..? I have the TGV today from lille to bordeaux but I Just get mail  that this train is cancel, there is problemen with the TGV today, what train I can taken to get tommorow to Bordoeaux?

 On moblie pass have train journey with Eurostar for 31 july.  When I try to add to travel day it says:  no outbound/inbound journeys left it looks like you’ve used all your outbound/inbound journeys.  youll need to buy a separate ticket to make this journey. Have been able to add another journey from paris with no problem. Appreciate any guidance.    If I have begun with a mobile pass, can I change to a paper pass?  is this easy to do?I have also requested help from Interrail. Many thanks, barbara

We bought a flexi 3 days Eurail pass for Italy in September, and so far planned 2 out of 3 days.  For the last day, I am thinking to use the pass to do regional travel within Rome instead of using the metro.  Appreciate suggestions on the train stations worth stopping over that have attractions eg Rome Travestere etc.  Thanks.
