Hi, I’m new to the Eurorail pass (not new to traveling, just have never gotten a Eurorail pass before) and plan on going to France, Switzerland and Italy in December 2025 (with a day trip to London and a day trip to Strasbourg some of the days). I’m assuming it’s probably better to get a Eurorail pass for this trip, instead of buying one-way tickets between each destination (some destinations are day trips too). Is this correct? Any tips? We will be in Paris for a week and then going to Switzerland and then Italy the remainder of the trip. Thanks!

I have a query with Romanian Railways CFR Calatori, but I am getting very confused answers. Here is the query trail:Dear Sirs,I have a ticket from Sibiu to Medias for 2 people on the 17:32 arriving 19:01 on 8th September on train R2567. Ticket ID 29739615However when I look on your website at the timetables this train does not appear, only the R2569 at 19:35 arriving 21:07I need to be in Medias to catch the sleeper train to Wien which leaves Medias at 21:37 and I am worried about the short handover. Is the 17:32 running that day? If not, is my ticket valid on the 19:35? Will I definitely make my sleeper connection at Medias?Their reply: Dear customer,From the checks carried out, the train runs according to the book, there are no delays. We cannot predict what will happen that day.If it does not benefit you, give up the ticket - refund according to terms and conditions. My second query:Thanks for your reply, but I don’t think I understand it.Are you saying that the 17:32 is still schedu
Hi I am intending to get eurail pass for 10 days for Xmas 1.i understand I might need to book some seat and according to the eurail site. It direct us to oebtickets. My quest is how to I link my eurail w the seat reservation. Or I just show the train master seperately my eurail pass on app and download seat pdf. Also my child is only 10yo, may I know if the system will try to put us together. My worry is he might be seperate fr either of us. 2. Does the site oebtickets works for all cities train. We are doing a long trip for 10 cities. Like to settle once on a single site 3. My trip is Dec. Is it too early now to make seat reservation? Are the schedule stable to booknow? TIA
Hi, we’re planning our interrail trip with 7 days global pass for the first two weeks of september. We’d like to visit main European capitals (Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Vienna and finishing up with sea in the Balkans). We live in the south of Italy and we’d rather to travel exclusively with the pass, preferabily minimizing seat reservation and additional costs. Do you think that’s possible leaving from Lamezia Terme? With which itinerary? We are especially in difficulty with inbound and outbound days 😩🙏🏻🫶🏻
To the Interrail community,I’m planning on spending around 4-5 days in Switzerland, probably using Interlaken as a base. I would appreciate any recommendations for things to do - I was planning on doing a couple of nice hikes, maybe go for a swim somewhere in nature and take a gondola up the mountains. I was thinking of visiting Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald but other suggestions would be welcome. I’m on a budget and do not drive so places that are fairly accessible by train would be helpful. I’m also into sustainability so would prefer to avoid lots of tourists - I realise this is harder to do during the summer! Thanks,Felix
Hi guys- awful mistake I’ve made a spelling mistake in the name on my pass. I’m travelling tomorrow but haven’t activated- will the Zendensk respond in time?!?
Hi! We are two travellers going from Budapest to Zagreb the 29th of August by train and would want to know if there is other people that are doing the same route as we are having trouble taking the trains.
Because of some spare days this year I want to try an interrail trip during the cold season. And I'm curious how Christmas holidays and New Year's Eve is celebrated in other parts of europe. My plannings are to start in the middle of Germany around 21.12.25 and go to SW/S/SE of europe by train (15 days global pass) and to reach my home around 03.01.26.Maybe someone would accompany me on some or all stages? This sounds very vague (I already know 😊) but I'm open for new experiences and nice suggestions.
Hello fellow travelers! We fly into Zurich, Switzerland ( was cheaper than Munich) and take a train to Immenstadt, Germany (south-west of Munich) to visit family. Next, we plan on traveling from Immenstadt, Germany to Bolzano/ Bozen, Italy. Then travel from Bolzano/Bozen (Italy) back to Zurich to fly home to America. I’m trying to avoid having to be routed to Munich to get to Bolzano/Bozen Italy and from Bolzano Bozen , Italy back to Munich to get to Zurich, Switzerland. It adds a lot of time to the train trip. 6.5 hours of travel total. I’ve tried a few combinations, like going form Immenstadt to Salzburg, Austria and each time I’m routed through Munich first. Is there a way to avoid Munich or is it a hub and I can not be avoided? Also is it worth upgrading to 1st class? I bought second class passes and thought I could book 1st class sits for the longer trips but that’s not an option. So I’m wondering if I should upgrade both passes to 1st class because of the length of the time on t
Hi everyone,I’ve run into a problem while planning my Interrail trip. It looks like there are currently no trains running from Bulgaria to Greece. I found an alternative: taking the train from Sofia to Kulata, then crossing the border and catching a train from Strimon in Greece to Thessaloniki.Has anyone done this before and knows the best way to get across the border? Or does anyone know of an easier solution? Thanks ;)
I purchased a Eurail Global Pass: 4 days in 1 month - 1st Class ticket for my wife and I for travel next month. I can’t seem to use the pass to book and reserve seats. Eurail has no phone number to call either. We are going throughout France, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany. I would prefer to prebook these seats.
I won an interrail pass last year and it runs out in September. I am starting from England and I really want to travel and use it to it's full potential. I have also started buying the things I need for the trip but I haven't booked any hostels or tickets yet. Is this going to end up costing me an insane amount of money? Some hostels charge £40-£100 and I know that I need reservations for some trains. Is it possible to do this so last minute? (Leaving within the next couple of days). Any help and brutal honesty would be appreciated! Thanks😊
I'm booked on the 7:01am london St Pancras to Paris Eurostar on Thursday. I'm booked in plus. The first train from Cambridge arrives in St Pancras at 05:59. The recommended check-in is at 05:46 but check in closes at 6:31. Am I safe to connect from the 05:59 Cambridge train?
Does anyone knoe how to fix this problem? I have i friend who lives just over the border between the Netherlands and Germany, on the side of Germany. We are currently on our trip that started from Nijmegen in The Netherlands. Now we have been in Switserland, Italy, Austria and the Checz Republic. We are now on our way to Berlin and thats where the issue is. My friend lives in Germany, so the out/inbound system works for him in Germany. We did not account for this considering he never does anything in Germany and does school and all other daily things in The Netherlands. He now cannot contine to Denmark after Berlin because of how the days work. Is there a way to fix this? Please help.
We are traveling with a 1st class InterRail Global Pass together with our 8-month-old baby. Since children under 4 are not eligible for their own pass, he travels on ours and sits in our lap. However, we’ve been asked to either move to 2nd class or purchase an additional full-price 1st class ticket for our baby on three separate occasions in Poland (PKP Intercity) and the Czech Republic (CD). While I understand that this may be in line with local regulations, the official InterRail rules clearly state that babies are allowed to travel in 1st class with someone holding a 1st class InterRail ticket. Can anyone clarify how these local rules align with InterRail’s ticket rules?
Too early to reserve seats for this journey? Would prefer the 06:22 to 15:50 one but first part of journey not valid on pass. 07:57 to 19:50 second choice. Thanks!
Hi ! I'm Allie (19f) from England and I'm planning to travel to Europe in August/September 2025. I'm quite flexible as to where I'd like to go and have a few route ideas but my parents are quite resistant to me being alone (and of course company is always the nicer option) ! Is there anyone who might like to join me? My Instagram is @allie.rosesd.Thanks!
Hello, I am looking for a travel buddy from Austria for July-August 2026. I would like to go to Ireland and Amsterdam but I am open for other countries too. I am scared to go alone and would be happy to find a travel partner or a travel group!

HelloWe are about to set off for Europe, mainly travelling in Norway, using an Interail pass for the first time. Reservations have been made when necessary using Entur. I have been checking our trip details this morning as some of the entries had to be added manually when we were first planning our holiday. There are a couple that are still not showing in the trip planner even though these are during the first week of September. My concern is whether the QR code will show correctly once I activate the respective journeys. Am I worrying unduly?Any help would be much appreciated thank you
Hi all, we are looking to book the Eurostar from London to Amsterdam as our outbound travel train out of the UK. We also need to get to London from the North. Can we book the travel from London - Amsterdam and the train to London separately or in one go?If we go on the train planner it suggests the train in one go but we are worried about delays to London which will then make us miss the London Amsterdam train.
I have train reservation from Barcelona Sants to Paris. Can I take this train in Girona or do I have to board in Barcelona?
Hey so we are planning our interrail route and in my country (Greece), railway network is not so good so it's kinda hard to get out and expensive. We were thinking starting from spain but tickets are not that cheap. Anyways the question is if airplane tickets are covered by the pass in any way or even if a part of the amount is covered. Thank you!!
There’s a bunch of topics here on the Narvik-Kiruna connection but they are >10months old. We're doing that this Summer and running into some interesting challenges. In particular, the Kiruna-Gällivare tracks are being revised (details at https://bransch.trafikverket.se/contentassets/8f4ef0aa71e34f7fbee83cfd6da5e1b1/ns_2025_2025_06_09.pdf) and it is quite tricky to find a through-connection from Narvik via Kiruna to Boden and onwards. So this is a heads-up to anyone aiming to cover this route in August 2025.We'll find our way across (it involves a bus for the Kiruna-Gällivare bit) but I do have a question that the SJ website hasn't answered for me. Apart from the tracks undergoing renovation, Kiruna station (along with the whole city center, famously) will be moved by a few miles due to the iron ore mine needing more space. (For us that's one reason to go check out Kiruna, in case you’re wondering.)But my question for the rail heads: where exactly will the train stop in Kiruna in Au
