Planner showing needing an extra travel day

Hi I’m using https://www.interrail.eu/en/tripplanner-map# to plan my trip. I’d planning to:Start in Geneva Travel to Basel (1) Travel to Cologne (2) Travel to Brussels (3) Travel to Amsterdam (4) Travel to London (5) End in LondonI think that is 5 travel days, but the Trip Planner is telling me I need 6 travel days, can anyone confirm how many travel days I need to buy? Many thanks

Seat Reservations

HI All, We recently joined and are looking at buying a 10 day pass. We plan to travel to three countries in May over 10 days. How do we book a train from London to Paris using our Euro global pass? I jumped on the eurostar but its charging me the normal fare? There isnt anything on their website that offers a discount for global pass holders. We then want to book regional trains from Paris to Bordeaux and San Sebastian.. How do we go about doing that? using our global pass.

Swiss GCN Ferries from Lausanne - are these still 50% off with an Interrail Pass and can you book online?

Using the ferry to go to Evian or Vevey / Chillon, is it possible to get a discount with IR passes? And if so, is this only at the ticket office on the day and do the ferries ever fill up? We only have 4 hours in Lausanne and so have few departure options. many thanks if you can help!

Seat Reservations for Great Britain

When trying to get seat reservations for London-Edinburgh Eurail indicates that I need to get those through the rail carrier. Eurail says the carrier is “East Coast (GR)“ but I don’t know what railway company this is. In Eurail’s list of companies in Great Britain, with links to their sites, there is nothing that resembles this. I am assuming it is the LNER as they run most of the east coast trains. Does anyone know what the carriers are that match Eurail’s reference?

Travelling in and out of country of residence

Hi,I am a Dutch resident currently living in Paris. I will need to travel from Paris to Amsterdam on the 21st of April and return to Paris on the 22nd of April. I will then repeat the same trip on the 5th to 6th of May, and later again on the 12th to 13th of May.I have been considering purchasing the Interrail Global Pass (10 days within 2 months). However, I am quite confused by the rules regarding traveling within the country of your residence. The website mentions something about inbound and outbound trips.Could someone clarify if I will be able to use the Interrail pass for my intended trips?Thank you in advance.

Hi, if I use my Eurail pass to get a 25% discount on the Schlithorn - do I lose a travel day?  Also - I don’t see a Eurail discount for the Schilthorn Brunch option.  IS it not offered for that?

Italian train rail works

Hi everyone, We are coming to EU in Sep and saw a comment that there might be train works between Interlaken and Milan in August meaning buses are used. My wife is not keen on buses. Just wondering if there will be works closing this line in September please? Also the line from Milan to Tirano? I can’t see any notice of works on the SBB website.Thank you very much in anticipation

Cannot add my pass to my mobile

Please can you help?  I keep trying to add my pass but it says over and over again, “something went wrong, please try again or contact customer service if this keeps happening” I have contacted them but have read that it can take days for them to reply.I start travelling next week so am worried! thanks

Caledonian Sleeper Problem

My problem is that I’ve reserved a room on the Caledonian, leaving Glasgow at 11:40. It arrives in London at 7:15am the following day. I am then travelling to Paris later that morning on Eurostar.As things stand, this journey uses up both my ‘home’ travel days, which is far from ideal, to say the least. I can’t afford to pay for a return Eurostar + Avanti WC to Scotland.I’ve seen people mention that I could, perhaps alter the departure time to CET i.e. 00:40. I’ve done this in the app but will it work? I’m terrified that we’ll arrive at Glasgow and not be allowed to proceed.I’ve also asked support to add a travel day - I’m waiting to hear back. The situation is ridiculous really - as things stand no-one can use the sleeper to travel south unless they are prepared to use up both allowed ‘home’ travel days.Any help would be very gratefully received, as this is beyond stressful.

Barcelona to Paris May 17 2024

Friends of ours are ending a boat trip late morning on May 17 in Barcelona and would like to join us in Paris. Whare is the best place for them to secure a train booking? The ones they found seem very expensive, considerably more than the trip from Paris to London that we are also going on together.  Is that right, or are they missing something?

So im from the UK and bought a 4 day pass but started my four days in Holland foing Amsterdam-Agen (France).  In a few days i will travel to Geneva or Zurich. question:  on my remaining two days can i go Zurich/Torquay (UK) and then my last day going Torquay/Poole (UK)?Im new to all this…..

Change TGV reservation CDG to Strasbourg

I have a reservation to arrive at CDG on a Friday in May this year and hope to depart soon after for Strasbourg by TGV and know a reservation is required.  It is sometimes slow and difficult to get from the plane through immigration and customs.  I should have 2 hours between arrival and departure of the TGV (morning).  There is another 2 hrs 23 minutes later.  Since arrival is on a Friday morning I expect the TGV demand to be high and am watching it now.  If I were sure of the trip I could make a reservation now but plan to wait about another month.One strategy is to book the earlier departure knowing that if the plane flies at all I could make the later TGV.  Another is just the opposite, i.e. book the earlier thinking that if it becomes clear that I can’t catch it in time I could possibly change the reservation to the later TGV.  My wife will be waiting at CDG and will know the status of the flight and could make the change if it is clear we wont make the early TGV.  She will be at

Hi travellers!I was trying to make reservations for the NJ402 from Zurich to Utrecht on the 25th of July for me and my family. Somehow I can make reservations from Basel to Utrecht (same train?) but not from Zurich to Utrecht. According to the obb app we should take a separate IC from Zurich to Basel and board the NJ there. Any idea what could be the problem?

When should we become a group?

We are a group of four travelling from different parts of the UK to continental Europe via London. We will be meeting at London St Pancras to take the Eurostar. For example, one of us will be travelling from Manchester to Bruges via London. Another one from Brighton to Bruges via London. How do we make sure the interrail app books seats for us as a group (or at least on the same trains) from London onwards?I am assuming that if we set up a group too early, we won't be able to travel separately from different parts of the UK to London. And if we set up a group too late, we may end up on different trains and with seats far apart.

Should I buy Eurail pass first then book seats? Where do I reserve seats?

Hi! I am new to this forum and planning our first trip via train in Europe. It is very overwhelming, but I think I understand, but would like help to confirm.Here is our itinerary for the first week of Aug (family of 4)Day 1: Paris - Geneva Day 2: Geneva-Montreaux then Montreux-Interlaken (Goldenpass express) Day 3: Interlaken-Milan Day 4: Milan-VeniceI am planning on buying the Eurail 1st class flexible pass (4 days in 1 month pass)My question is: Once I buy my Eurail pass, where do I book seats for these segments? My understanding is that the Eurail site isn’t quite up to date (and doesn’t go that far out) and so seat reservations should be made directly on TGV, sncf, Trenitalia or other sites? I already booked my seats for GoldenPass express directly on gpx site. Thank you in advance!

Help with reservations please

Hello everyone I have taken interrail global pass. I have a series of doubts, please excuse me if I sound ignorant. Since I don’t live anywhere near London, I am quite new to the idea of using the rail to travel Europe.My questions:I thought the interrail pass would be valid only from the day we start using it. And yet, when I was purchasing it, I had to enter  a date in the box. Likewise I was not offered an option for email pass, I had to order a physical pass. Email would have been cheaper, but in my case, I wouldn’t lose it as well. Do you think I may have missed something and got it all wrong and ended up with a paper pass? This information would be helpful for future purchases of pass. I have gone for an interrail pass that allows me 7 days of travel within one month. I actually would like to travel to Brussels, Anrwerp, Cologne, Berlin and back, from Manchester, preferably in September. Do I need to do reservations for any of these journeys? Can I include Manchester to London wi

Adding journeys to an active travel day while travelling

Hi,I have only used paper passes before, but this summer I will use the mobile pass. When using the mobile pass, I have to add journeys to my pass to activate a travel day and make the journey appear on the ticket of that travel day.My question is; do I have to add all the journeys of single a travel day before I activate and start that travel day, or can I continue to add journeys to that same travel day when I’m on the move and when that travel day has already started?Let’s say that I start a travel day by taking the morning train from Berlin to Munich. The plan is, then, to spend a few hours in Munich, before I continue to Salzburg. All in one travel day. As I start that trip, and as I arrive in Munich, I still don’t know for how many hours I will stay before I continue my trip. So, regarding the mobile pass, I want to add the journey from Berlin to Munich, activate the travel day and make that trip. Then, when I feel that I have had enough of Munich, I want to add the next journey

Trying to escape the UK to Paris via London and Eurostar. London/Paris leg - no problem. All my local deps to London are “ seat reservations needed” and the system will not let me add this leg to the trip. Virgin Trains seat res. is NOT on the Eurail system. Stuck in a loop.
