Q: Can I use my Interrail 2nd class Global Pass to book a deluxe single sleeper cabin on CD? I’d like to use my 2nd class pass to reserve a single deluxe cabin on two routes (Budapest-Krakow & Warsaw-Prague). CD has an easy process, and for both it does assign a single deluxe, *but* going through the ‘Document terms and conditions’, it says:“Compartments in sleeper carriages are divided into so-called “Economy”, where a 2nd class ticket is required for all types of compartments (Triple, Double, Single and possibly connected Family compartments), and so-called “Deluxe”, where a 1st class ticket is required for all types of compartments. For use of a berth of the category Single (a compartment with one bed), it is necessary to present a travel document issued for 1st class travel.”CD giving me the option to book a deluxe single with specified 2nd class IR seems to contradict the Ts&Cs. Is it possible / common to be able to get a standby ticket on Eurostar train (Brussels to London) the night before my current train ticket? 

hi, i’m travelling from the UK to Europe using a global pass. can i make multiple journeys in my home country using the pass? the website is ambiguous - it says i can only make two journeys - one in, one out - but i can have ‘multiple train transfers’. Does this mean i can travel from any location to London then get the eurostar as long as it is on the same travel day?And the same on return i assume?

Hello I have planned to visit europe from 25th April to 30th May 2025. I purchase 10 days flexible global pass ticket.First 10 days I will roam around the italy then Switzerland next 7 days and subsequently France, Belgium, Netherlands.When I search a trip in the eurail rail planner app I didn't find the stations name though if I zoom the maps I can see the stations. But It is bit difficult to find my exact train station name near to my accomodation. Rail planner map does not switch to satellites mode also.My concern, is there any way to see all the station  name of a country or city near to my accomodation. Is there any option to switch rail planner map default mode to satellite mode?Thanks in advance. Profound regards

I’m forever grateful for all the help I’ve gotten from you users today, and since you know so much, I wanted to ask you a few more questions. These are regarding the seat reservations as well. You told me that it is not possible to buy seat reservations fore some regional trains, are these included?: Chur - zeurich Hb (19.11-20.48 11 July 2025), berlin Hbf - Magdeburg Hbg (0.44-02.37 13 July 2025) (I have been told that this is a regional train), Magdeburg Hbf - Uelzen (04.47-06.41 13 July 2025), Uelzen - Hamburg Hbf (07.04 - 08.03 13 July 2025), Fredericia - Slagelse (12.15 - 14.10 13 July 2025) Also please tell me if you think it’s stupid that we sometimes only have 20 minutes in between arrival and departure. We struggled to find other alternatives that would cost us many more hours.

Thanks to this community for your advice and help. I need to buy two adult one-way train tickets from London (any station) to Edinburgh for the morning of July 7, 2025. I already bought two Interrail Global Passes, good for any 4 days within a month. I would like to use those passes for this train ticket, but so far I cannot see how to do that. I live in Switzerland and have residency there but hold a US passport. I’ve tried doing this with VPN set to Great Britain and and also without, neither seems to make a difference. Here’s also what I’ve tried:Interrail.eu : when I try to book on this site, while logged into my account, and I’ve added my passes to my account, I can see many trains throughout the day, but I get a red popup that says seat reservations are required for this train travel, but that I can’t make seat reservations from this site. Hello! I am planning a trip for this summer. I already bought the pass from eurail but now i want to add journeys and make the seat reservations for one of them, but i am so confused. I’m scared to activate my pass before I’m supposed to and don’t really know how I can reserve seats without having my pass activated. Plus, if I want to start traveling in august am I supposed to activate my pass now?

 I’m trying to book Munich to Verona on August 16, 2025. I would prefer a direct train, but there are none available on the EURAIL website for that date. When I look at August 9, exactly one week earlier, there are several direct trains for this route. I have the same issue with other segments of my trip, Munich-Verona-Florence-Rome; no high speed or direct trains available to book on the dates I want.. Yet if I look at other websites such as Trenitalia or Italo, I can see that those direct trains are supposed to be running.I keep coming back to check every few days in case the direct trains on the 16th and later suddenly become available to book with my Pass, but no luck yet.Is it a question of waiting for a certain date to see the direct routes become available to EURAIL Pass holders, or should I assume it wont happen and make other arrangements?

Hello everybody!Looking for help in planning a train trip from London to Belturbet in Ireland and am testing the limits of the Eurail app ;-)Can someone please confirm: 1) Holyhead route is the best option from London to Deblin?2) Pedestrian/Train passengers can board the ferry from Holyhead to Dublin?3) The best way to get to Belturbet for which there is a bus route Expressway Bus 30 from Dublin?4) Is there another way to get to Belturbet where a train connection from Dublin can get me closer to Belturbet and the bus journey can be eliminated or minimized?I am hoping someone well versed wirh the area can guide me in planning a better utilization of our Eurail Global passes with a family of four!  Thanks in advance for taking the time to respond...

On some of our planned shorter trips the interrail app neither says “seat reservations optional” nor “seat reservations required”. Does that mean that it is not possible to make seat reservations for these trips? 

Hello dear community, I am planning my travel to Norway. On the way back i'll be in Sweden with 3 short time connections of 15, 49 and 22 minutes. The first one in Kristinehamn station coming from Oslo and  going to Katrineholm C . Then in Katrinholm C to go to Linkoping C. And then in Linkoping C , nightrain  to go to Hamburg. Apparently these 3 stations are small ones  I was wondering if the trains would wait for people in transfer ?!

We've booked all the trains on our itinerary, except for one that's causing us problems: a train from Brussels to Paris that will leave around 16:00 on July 14. We've booked in advance, but we can't seem to make a reservation, even though the train does exist... yet it's as if it doesn't exist on b-europe.com. Do you have any advice?

Some seat reservations can’t be made in the interrail app. They refer me to int.bahn.de but there it’s not possible to connect the interrail-pass to the reservations so we would’nt get any discounts. I am super stressed and feel like this needs to be done before all the tickets are sold out. HOW DO I CONNECT MY PASS TO INT.BAHN.DE. Please help!!

hi team just another question regarding seat bookings. we are doing the long journey from Rome to Paris, - and we want to go through southern France instead of Switzerland. I know the train is leaving at 8:20am from Rome - on the 12th May but i wanted to ask, as it stops in Milan and we have to change train stations from Centrale to garibaldi in a half hour gap between the trains it said that the TGV inoui is departing from Garibaldi station in Milan. Just looking at worse case scenarios if. we miss our train how can we find if more trains are coming? and is there a chance we can keep our seats on the next train if we do. and can we book family booths through rail plus? ive heard they have some is there any recommendations on the best way to get to garibaldi, although its close walking alone ins 20 minutes, can anyone recommend the quickest way to get to garibaldi station from Centrale which gives us some time to find the platform?your assistance is greatly appreciated!

I have a small question that I have not been able to find a clear answer in the community. I'm interested in taking a 5-day global pass and I've read that trips inside/outside the country of origin don't subtract days from the package.To leave my country (Spain), I am most interested in travelling from Madrid to Barcelona and from there abroad (in my case, Lyon). Is this possible within the ‘day of departure’ allowed by the pass or can I only make one trip (example: Madrid to Lyon) to leave?Incidentally, this consultation is equally valid for the return to my country.I hope you can help me in the community. Hello!I am currently planning an interrail through the French Riviera and the Northwest Italy.My plan is to travel from Madrid, then Barcelona, travel by the French Riviera, Northwest Italy and finnally get to Milan. I want to make the whole travel by train, but I’m struggling to find options to get back to Madrid. One option was to get night trains, but I realized that there are not a lot of them… One of the options was to get a night train to Paris, and another one to Barcelona and finnaly, Madrid (so I wouldn’t need to pay for hostels). Do you think it's feasible? What other options should I consider? Thank you!

I'm in Sweden and the conductor just informed me that I need to sign in to the Eurail app to make a reservation for this train. However, the app is asking for a six character pass code. It says it is in my confirmation email, but the only pass number there is nine characters -- an E followed by eight digits.I have a paper Eurail pass, because I am a neanderthal and technology frightens me. How do I find the six character pass number? Or, how can I make reservations without the app? I've already made about a dozen trips on my pass, but this Swedish conductor is the first that insisted I need a reservation.

Hello,I plan to travel from Geneva to Annecy in June.I found TER 23420 on the SNCF website, and I intend to take this train to Annecy.but I cannot find this train on the Rail Planner app...😟 I would like to know if the Eurail Global Pass covers TER 23420?Or should I need to manually add this train to the Rail Planner app? Thank you in advance for your help!😊

I am trying to manually add ThamesLink journey from St Pancras to London Bridge because the Eurail app does not show trains. I have done this previously about 2 years ago but don't remember exactly how it's done. The Eurail app gives the following screen on starting manual addition: I entered the times approximately and train number is optional. Is this enough to generate a valid ticket or should I get exact train times from the ThamesLink app as below and put in exact departure and arrival times? Thanks in advance for your time! 

Hi there, My partner and I have finally purchased two eurail passes as we are travelling from Australia. We have not activated them as yet as we dont travel until june 16th this year. We both have the app on mobiles but are wondering how does this get validated by the train conductors ? Do they just check your phone for the pass or do they scan your phone ? Or do you have to print off a ticket every time from your phone to make a train trip ? I have always used and paid for paper tickets so this is very new for us, especially cause we plan to make 10 train trips so hoping for this to be simple. We may also need to get phone plans overseas as not sure if there is always working wifi.Thanks again.. 

Dear community,I am planning my next trip to Denmark, but on my way to one of my destinastions there are some railway maintance works, so no trains are running. There is a Togbus (Rail Replacement Bus) driving, but in the Interrail app it says it is out of network. On the website of Midttrafik it is stated that tickets wich are vailid on the trains, wich inlcudes Interrail, are valid on the Togbus. What are your experience in general with Togbus in Denmark? Do you guys have any experience with this?Thanks in advance!
