milan retourn

Because my wife can’t fly, we want to get the train from London to milan. Leave 31/8/25 and return 14/9/25. I’ve tried to look on the site but am struggling to find the options I want. I don’t know which type of pass I need for the trip. Needs to be a direct route as well, as we are going to tour Italy by car in between.

Raill replacement bus in the UK

On my next Scotland trip, I plan a stop in York on the way back before riding to Portsmouth to catch the ferry. Unluckily, it’s on a weekend (22-23 march) were all lines south of York are closed. There are rail replacement buses running to Doncaster, and also to Selby and Leeds, all three in about an hour which then connect on trains to London, so in theory there’s no problem. However I’d like to be sure if I can consider this reliable, or if it can be like “there’s one bus every hour and 200 people waiting so you will wait for 3 hours”. LNER says the trains may be crowded and advises to book, but nothing special about the buses. Alternatively, there’s a regional train route that still works to Leeds via Harrogate, barely slower than the replacement bus, but the first train is quite late on the Sunday morning and I’d have to be sure it would run normally and not be overcrowded to decide to wait for it (otherwise I wake up early and take a bus asap). Pass holder reservations may be sold out for Andalsnes to Oslo

I’ve purchased Scandinavian Eurail passes . My latest problem is when trying to book seats from Andalsnes to Oslo in May, I keep finding that “ Pass holder reservations may be sold out for this connection “. Can anyone help, I wish I hadn’t purchased the passes.

France to Braga (Pt) via Vigo (Sp)

Hello, is it possible to get from Bayonne/Hendaye (Fr) to Vigo (Sp) in one day via Bilbao or other northern Spanish city to avoid Madrid? I’m looking to travel 1 July 2025 but searching for dates before then (eg in 2 days time) as I know many routes are still not live. However, even when I search for the next few days/weeks, no routes at all are showing. I’m trying to avoid Barcelona and Madrid as I travel from London to Braga in Portugal (hence wanting to get to Vigo and cross the Spain/Portugal border there). Thanks for any creative travel tips! inbound journey mandatory

Hello! I will be traveling through Europe by train. I live in The Netherlands and will use my outbound journey to start my travels. i wanted to stay longer in my last destination and return with either bus or plane. Can I just use my inbound journey to visite another country or must I use it to return home? Thankyou so much!

Did I schedule things properly?

Hi, I write because I start to fill nervous about the way I subscribed our global passes and how I reserved all trains for a long trip that should take place from 12 up until the 24th April (13 days). I would therefore be really thankful if any of you could tell me whether I did things correctly, or not. In case it is important... all steps were carried out from a PC. My mobile phone is 15 years old, too slow and does not work correctly with some applications. The phone just served for validation of bank security codes, and things like that. Here below, how I proceeded: First, I did a simulation on the Interrail website, which suggested that the pass I needed was a 7 days one. I subscribed (paid) one for me and my daughter (17 years old). However, 2 days later my wife decided herself up. I therefore got a second “independent” pass (of same kind). I then proceeded with reservations. I had many problems because I had to login once and once again to be able to validate each reservation, w

Hi! Do you need a seat reservations in Estonia with 2nd class pass? My railway planner- app says that seat reservations are required. But interrail.eu website tells opposite. The website says that I cant book seat with 2nd class pass in Estonia. I am travelling from Tallin to Kaunas.

How often to check for seat reservations?

We are hoping to travel from Trieste to Venice on 26.6.2025 at 10.35 to find "seat reservations are not available". Is it that we are too early? If so, when is the advice to next check? Or might it be that no reservations are required? Thanks".

Question on booking ahead

My specific question is as follows: We want to reserve seats from our home town to Paris. We can reserve the seats on the Eurostar service but not yet (too early to book) for the home town to London part. Can we proceed with the Eurostar reservation then add the hometown journey when it is available to book or does this all need to be booked at the same time to count as the ‘outbound’ journey. Please help?

I have purchased a Eurail Italy pass and some of the journeys I have planned require a seat reservation. When I try to book a reservation in the Rail Planner app the site continues to buffer and will not load? Can anyone give me guidance on this issue?

different train numbers in SBB and Eurail App

I'm planning a trip in Eurail app from Visp to Andermatt, following the schedule shown in the first screenshot. The train number is RE522. However, when I checked the timetable in the SBB app, it showed the schedule in the second screenshot, with the train number R43. I'm wondering if these are the same train. Is it okay to board R43 while I add my trip in the Eurail app as RE522? Thank you very much for your assistance.

Using Global pass for intracity travels

Dear, I would appreciate any help here. We will have a Eurail global pass. The info I am after is will I need separate ticket to travel within Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and Frankfurt. If yes, is there a daily pass (or family pass) for 1-2 days that I can use. Much appreciated.

Are buses in Denmark included in the Interrail Global Pass?

Dear community, we like to visit small towns off the beaten track. Are buses in Denmark included in the Interrail Global Pass? For example; • from Allborg to Hou Kirke If the buses aren't included, does anyone have a tip for us on how to use all public transport in Denmark most cost-effectively? Are there network tickets? Weekly tickets or similar? Another question: does a student ID card equal a Youth Card, which allows you to buy a child's ticket on local public transport? Thanks for your knowledge. Information about 2 Months in a row Global pass

Hello, I’m buying an Interrail Global pass of 2 months in a row and I have two questions for my next trip. I’m Italian and I must return to Italy after the start of my journey for 1-2 day/s. I’m thinking to buy a separate ticket from Trenitalia to travel from Italy to Switzerland and use the remain days of global pass to travel. -Firstly, is my interrail still valid ( obviously outside my home country ) after I have used outbound/inbound days? and the second question is: -Can I use outbound/inbound days for two outbound ? For this second chance I could buy the separate ticket from Switzerland to Italy and I can use the second outbound to go in Switzerland again. For the return I’ll buy another ticket from Trenitalia.

Seat reservations on websites VS Eurail

I wanted to ask regarding my journey which involes multiple cities. If I’m going in a group of 5 should I book using the train’s local website or the eurail website regarding getting seated together. Cause I heard booking using eurail might not get you seated together and its more expensive, is that true?. Also, whats a good amount of time to prepare for booking a seat reservation for places like Paris, Amsterdam and Barcelona etc. (Would a month before the travel date be possible to book for 5 people in these places?)

Travelling with dog

Hello ! Does anyone have an axperience about travelling with a dog and an interrail pass ? We want to travel in France and Italy with our dog next week ( 29 march-6 april). We havn't buy the interrail pass yet because we can't find a clear information about how to buy him his ticket. Indeed, we can buy a ticket for a dog in the website if we buy an adult ticket. But with interail we dont buy an adult ticket. So how to buy the dog ticket ? We already called trenitalia and they dont have an answer. So we are a bit blocked. Thanks a lot !

Italy form Czech/Vienna Christmass, (with dog)

Hi there, I wanted to go to Italy by train with my mum and medium size dog.First we wanted to go from Czech republic thru Greece and then Italy and back, but it seems Greece isn’t passable still. We replanned and decided to go around Italy, but I wasn't able to make a reservation in night train from Vienna to Rome.Then I haven't found any information or possibility to book a ticket for a dog or any condition on the web of Tranitalia.I am quite lost. Do you have any experience with / suggestions for traveling by trains around Europe with a dog and mum by the time of Christmas? :) Thank you for any help!
