I wanted to book a seat using interrail in ICE and TGV but do not find option on DB bahn and SNCF, how can I do it?For ICE train from Mannheim to Paris, do I need a seat reservation?

I’m embarking on my third interrail adventure in two weeks time, and I’d like to share the route on my Instagram profile. I’ve seen many people share animated maps (where the animation shows the train travelling from the starting point to the destination, with the stopping points marked on the route). Can anyone recommend an app/site for creating this (preferably free, but I’m prepared to pay if there’s a really good user-friendly one). Good afternoon Eurrail hive mind. We have now booked our First Class Eurail passes (BEFORE the 15% sale, boo!) and we have the following itinerary in mind. The route doubles back a bit unfortunately but this is because my friend in Munich is only available on certain times. Our start and end point is Schiphol on 24 June and 16 July. I would appreciate answers to two questions:Which of these trips do I need to reserve? Where would be a good place to stop on the longer trips?Our itinerary is as follows:Thurs 25 June:  overnight sleeper AMS-ZUR (=4 x couchettes already reserved and paid for) Monday 29 June:  Zurich-Modena:  does this need a reservation? And which is the best route? Friday 03 July:  Modena-Munich:  does this need a reservation? Going from Prague to Berlin, and need to take 3 trains, booked tickets for the first and third trains, but the second one said no ticket, “open seating”. However, I looked today 13MAR for the train on 18MAR and they replaced the second train with a replacement bus. Do I need to book tickets for that replacement bus or what do I need to do? 

I am trying to reserve seats for the 15:35 IC 204 from Budapest-Deli to Zagreb Gl. Kol. on Friday 5 June 2026. I cannot book via interrail, and via CD and MAV I get the same message “The booking period for this reservation has not yet begun or has already expired.”Am I too early? I am 45 days in advance.

Hello, can someone tell what it means when looking at going from one city to another and you need to change trains, it comes up as a flag “Not bookable separately”-ie Zermatt to Milan

I was planning on going with a few friends during august 2026 and i got to activate my pass with the validity period being that month. Some things came up and we ended up deciding that a later date would be betted. Can i change the validity dates of my pass, since the period has not started yet?

Hi all!In the beginning of June i'm planning to travel from Sofia to Craiova. However, i am a bit worried about switching trains in between. The whole trip will look like this:7:15 Sofia Sever → 8:47 Mezdra18 min transfer time9:05 mezdra → 12:20 Vidin40 min transfer time13:00 vidin → 16:13 Craiovai am a bit concerned that the time in between trains will be too short. I have no experience with Bulgarian trains so no idea about their punctuality. Is this something to be worried about or should i be fine? Also, how exactly does it work with making reservations? From what i read i should make train reservations at a ticket office. So for example, could i go to the ticket office in Sofia the day before the trip and make a reservation for all 3 trains? Or do i have to do this at the departing station? Thanks in advance for your help! 

How do check online when my pass expires

I am loading my train possibilities from Stockholm Ctrl to Oslo S.  I'm looking to go Sept 17, 2026.  I understand I need the SJ website and have found all that,  but how can I load this into my rail planner.  I have other trains schedules uploaded for other parts of my trip, but SJ won't upload and I can't seem to add it manually in rail planner.  What an I doing wrong.   I'm just trying to get all my train options in my rail planner and will toggle when I'm ready to use the one I need.

Greetings: It’s my first time booking inter-country trains and regional trains. I’m booking from Stockholm to Copenhagen and Eurail will take me from Stockholm Central to Malmo. I have that ticket paid for. Although the Malmo to Copenhagen leg appears, I cannot book It. How do I book the 2nd leg of my journey? Do I book it as I board or at the station? If so, on what website? Or do I have to book through a regional train-line on a different website? Please assume I know nothing when you answer. I won’t take it personally...LOL Too many words and a detailed explanation will be very useful for this firstt-timer.

So basically I was already booking the required seat reservations and I was able to book all of them, but not my Innsbruck Hbf - Wien Hbf train. It is the NJ 19947 Nightjet, from OBB. It is weird, because I have already booked other seats with this company and there’s no issue at all. Dates are all around the same week, so I don’t really understand why wouldn’t I be able to book these seats. I don’t see any support email in their website to ask… Thank you.

I have a 10 day/2 month Global Pass.My resident country is New Zealand. I will activate my Pass from Spain, travel through Europe and then head to the U K.I have a Eurostar booking Amsterdam to London St Pancras. Can I use my spare travel days in UK,until I fly home from Heathrow?Can I use my Global Pass to travel to Heathrow airport? (Not on the same day as my arrival from Amsterdam)Thanks Sharon

I am living in Germany. I wanted to travel from Cologne to Brest. The Global Pass allows a one-day inbound and outbound journey in the country of residence.So, can I start my journey from Cologne(Germany) to Paris(France) by counting one travel day? Or do I need 1 for inbound in the home country and another (same day) for France?In France, can we travel without seat booking on the TGV? 

Hei, we have seniot interrail tickets. We fly to Palermo first. We cannot get seating places to train from Palermo to Salerno 1.5, time 10.15. How we can pay them and get our tickets to phone?

Okay so me and my friends want to interrail around Europe, we all live in the UK. We don't live in London so if we were to buy a Global interrail pass would that cover the travel from our city to London?? Or would we just need to find our way there?

Hello, my goal is to travel from Stockholm to Narvik on July 18th. The only available route requires me to change trains at Boden. However, it seems to me that the night- train arriving at Boden splits into two, with one section continuing on to Narvik.So I have two questions:Will new direct trains be offered?If it’s not the case do I have to use two travel days for this journey?Thanks for your answer ! 

Hello!  We (3 of us) are traveling from Amsterdam to London on April 24th and have passes bought.  This is our last leg across Europe, but are finding seats are Sold Out.  What are our options?  

I’m wondering if there is any way to select specific seats using a Eurail pass on Trenitalia.  From everything I read online here, it’s not possible on Trenitalia’s website, Trenitalia Kiosks, Eurail, or even OBB.   My travel companion for an upcoming trip has never been to Europe before and I was really hoping I could select seats, rather than have them preassigned.  I’m wondering if we go to a Trenitalia agent at a station if they have flexibility of accommodating requests.   I’d prefer the one seat arrangements facing each other, but as long as we’re sitting together, that would be fine.  What I’m really hoping to prevent is being assigned in different cars or even in the same car not together.  Is there a way to see the assigned seats before finalizing a booking?  I’m fine with us sitting side-by-side, across from each other, window or aisle, etc.  Just don’t want us separated.   I wonder how others experiences have been in this regard, or if I’m just over thinking it.  

Does anyone have any insight into what routes will be offered this summer, and when booking might open?I am trying to book for early July from Narvik (if it runs) or Boden to Stockholm. The website just shows track maintenance being planned, and no tickets yet. Although I note there are tickets for a few days later in the month. Is there any certainty there will be trains, even if a different route / schedule etc? 

Hello! Bought a paper pass for reduced price already in the winter, planned to travel in spring. Now plans changed, planning to travel in the autumn.But, the site says i have to BUY a new pass, wait for refundng of the original passa + pay 25 euros for the exchange.SO, if I do not get the new pass for the same reduced price, why would I exchange it and pay the extra 25 euros? And why do I have to buy the pass and get the refund later, can you not transfer the money/price of the original pass for the purchase of a new one?
