Hello! This summer, we are going to Germany, Sweden, and Norway, and we have a doubt about whether it’s better to buy a 1st class pass or a 2nd class pass. Can you help me, please?Route: Berlin - Hamburg- Copenhagen- Stockholm - Oslo -Bergen -Myrdal -Oslo. (*We would be grateful if you could also make suggestions about the trip) 

Hi community, I planned and read a lot with/about Interrail in the last weeks, but there are two major things which aren’t clear for me or at least are some strange discrepancies. Why is it not possible to use my Interrail log in for the app? I planned a journey in the app which doesn’t show on the website. A planned journey on the website (for testing purposes) doesn’t show in the app.Part of my planned journey on August 7th is ICE 16 from Cologne to Bruxelles, departure 11:42. It showed in the app and I saved it, so the connection definitely exists. But if I try to book a seat in the train on the website, the connection doesn’t even show anymore. There are suddenly only journeys with the much more expensive Eurostar. I also discovered many small things which aren’t working properly and honestly I have a little doubt to spend so much money on a global pass if I can’t trust it fully.

I am wishing to book a double sleeper on the European sleeper from Amsterdam to Berlin for 18 September. The schedule has just come out. It is showing no double sleeper availability with the eurail pass. Will availability for eurail open later, or are all of the allocations to eurail passes used already?

Hello,I am little not sure about what train route I should take from Interlaken to Chur, (in May) with Interrail Global pass. I need to catch Bernina express from Chur as early as possible. I checked Rail planner and Google Maps, all route showing via Bern and Zurich, and no trains showing via Lucerne (not sure if via Lucerne will be less time consuming or not). Kindly suggest.TIA

I tried to add the route from Bolzano to Monterosso to my trip in the Eurail app, and got a message that a supplement is required for this train. Apparently, all trains going via the Brenner route require this supplement,.I tried booking via Eurail, but that wasn’t possible. The Eurail information says: “You need a mandatory supplement to travel to/from/within Italy. You can purchase the supplement in advance or on the train for a small fee (5 Euro). 2nd class: 10 Euro, 1st class 15 Euro.The information says to book it via the ÖBB ticket shop. I selected the “Interrail/Eurail Global Pass” under “Discounts”. For 3 people, the supplement was 182 Euros 70 Cents.Is that normal, or am I doing something wrong? That does seem kind of steep, especially when Eurail says in the info that the supplement would cost 10 or 15 Euro, respectively.Can anyone help me with this?Thanks very much!!Sylvia

 As a family of two adults traveling with a four-year-old child, I've already made reservations for the two adults through the Bernina Express website, utilizing the 'Eurail pass' reduction. Notably, I didn't reserve a seat for my child since the Bernina website clearly states that children under six travel for free. Now should I make seat reservation for adults and child from Eurail website ? or if using Eurail pass is it mandatory that child needs reservation ?

Hi,Will my seat reservation be still valid if I deactivate the pass after purchasing it, and then activate the pass again? I will be getting a new ID soon and thus I will need to deactivate my pass to update it. However, I want to make seat reservations as soon as possible as they might be sold out after I have got a new ID, and that’s something I’d like to avoid. Can I purchase the seat reservations before I deactivate the pass, or should I wait until I get the new document and buy them only after my pass has been activated “for good”? Note: I got my ticket from DiscoverEU, so I had to activate it before the end of March. They told me it’s completely fine to deactivate it to update my ID afterwards, but I have no idea what happens to my seat reservations then. 

Trying to work out if the Interrail Global Pass is valid on RENFE, specifically the Cercanías/commuter trains in the North/Northwest of Spain. Any help is appreciated.

Hello!I am planning a trip from Barcelona/Paris to Almaty by train and bus this summer 2024, in order to get to my exchange university in Kazakhstan. I have never used an interrail pass, but I thought it would be a great way to plan the European part of the trip, from Barcelona to Ankara (Turkey). Looking at the railway network I thought I could go through Zagreb-Belgrad-Sofia, either through northern Italy (departing from Barcelona) or southern  Germany (departing from Paris), but I am not sure if this could eventually work out. I was wondering whether someone had already done this trip (Paris-Ankara or Barcelona-Ankara) and is used to taking night trains with interrail, etc. I don't really understand the seat/bed reservation system, which type of trains are the passes valid for, and what prices to expect in early July. If anyone could share information on these I'd be super grateful.Thank you in advance :)Cheers!Chloé

We are travelling from Interlaken to Lyon (one day) in mid June and we have a 1st class Eurail pass.  It appears that seat reservations are optional.  1) If we don’t book a seat, can we still access the 1st class carriage? 2) is there any danger we won’t get a seat on the train if we don’t reserve a seat?

I booked DB first class seats using my Second class pass as website have both options while booking. should i rebook, can i get a refund on the first class reservation? 

As a first-time user of the Eurail pass, I've already reserved seats through the official Bernina Express website (https://shop.rhb.ch/). I've paid 36 CHF for seat reservations by selecting the 'Eurail pass' reduction option. Interestingly, the website didn't prompt me for my Eurail pass number or any related details; it simply applied the discount Now I believe I already made the seat reservation (selected seat which I want). However, I'm uncertain whether I should also book seats through the Eurail pass website, as it seems to cost an additional 120 EUR. Could you please advise me on whether booking seats through the Eurail pass website is necessary or recommended?  

I will be in Europe in 2 weeks. I see only one available train (Paris to Barcelona) that I could purchase a reservation.Given the short time for the post, I was wondering if I could buy the reservation online and then go to a train office (when in Europe) and ask them to print the tickets for me.Thanks,

Hello all, we’re real excited to take my family of 5 kids to Europe at the end of May.  One problem i’m having is reserving a train from Ravenna Italy to Interlaken Switzerland on June 8th. Looks like major trains from Ravenna go through Milan, so i’m trying to search from Ravenna to Milan but when I don’t get results for any dates past May 1st, does that mean I need to wait longer to book those?I also went to the regional train website : https://www.lefrecce.it/ and can find trains there however I couldn’t figure out how to book a reservation with my Eurailpass - just ability to purchase new tickets.  Any help would be appreciated.thank you,Sam

After weeks of struggling to book and make seat reservations on a two months round Europe 1st class trip for two, I am giving up as, so far, I haven’t been able to leave the UK!!! My 30 years in the travel industry has failed to help me negotiate the incredibly complex booking convolutions. I now find I can’t even negotiate a refund. I am told to log in and go to “my pass” - that option does not appear. Anyone? So disappointed…………..

I have 2 x 5 day interrail passes for me and my wife. I’ve reserved seats on a TGV Inoui from Paris to Strasbourg, but I couldn’t find out how to book our bikes onto the train. I know the train has bike spaces, so how do I add these to my seat reservations?

Hello, I have a 10 in 2 months global pass and will only use the outbound journey to leave Germany. With 2-3 days left on my pass I will take a flight back from Barcelona to Berlin. As the inbound journey will not be used with some regular travel days left, could I do another day trip let's say within the same day on another weekend from Berlin to Poland? To Poland early morning, back the same evening, although only inbound is still available

Hello everyone!  I’m from Japan and would like to get your advice for my first trip to North Europe!I’m seeking your advice for transportation especially in Denmark and Norway.  Here are my basic plans for now.  My travel is in June 2024 and about 15 days and thiking to get eurail scandinavia pass for 4 or 5 days. 1. Start from Copenhagen to Hirtshals by train, 2. Hirtshals to Bergen by Ferry, 3. Bergen to Flam by train, 4. Flam to Oslo by train, 5. Oslo to Stockholm by train and 6. Stockholm to Helsinki by Ferry.My question is regarding 2,3,and 4 above around fjord.  I heard that there is a tour ticket called nutshell but my travel plan is one way from Bergen to Oslo and I’m not sure if my plan is fit to the nutshell.  So does anybody have advice for my trip between Bergen to Oslo and what is the best way to tranport?  and also any advise how many days I should spend during this transport from Bergen to Oslo (one night stay in Flam necesarry)? I’m looking forward to getting many ideas

Hello everyone!My husband and I will be traveling for 3 and a half months in Europe arriving by cruise on August 4th to Southampton UK. We'll travel all around the UK for 3 weeks and then we are planning on taking the Eurostar to Amsterdam and spend the next 3 months visiting the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy and back to Southampton by mid November. We bought the 3 months in a row Eurail Global pass but since it doesn't cover the whole time we are going to be there, I'm wondering when would be more convenient to activate it? Right after getting there and using it in the UK? (We bought first class and I read that UK is the best country to take advantage of it) or use it on time to take advantage of the 2 Eurostar trips (back and forth) I'm trying to make numbers and it seems that going from Italy to London it's going to be expensive so probably it’s wiser to use the Global pass for that trip? This will be our first time in Europe so we’d really appreciate any a

I’m planning out my trip for March 24 and have managed to book seat reservation on all trains except AVI 9725 from Madrid to Narbonne in France. I am told a seat reservation is required but that it cannot be booked on the interrail websiteNot available from Interrail.euThis seat reservation can’t be booked on our website. Check 'More information' for other ways to book.I have accommodation in Narbonne that can only be cancelled 2 weeks before the journey starts so I’m a little nervous not getting my seat reservation before then.Any ideas on how I can reserve seats before I start my trip? 

Every time I get to the checkout it says that something went wrong... this app and website is terrible..  Am I booking too early? We are trying to book for early June. WE already bought a 15 day pass (first class).
